Ranger Job Change Experience

Overview:
Rangers are the 3rd jobs for Hunters and Snipers. Their role still revolves on using bows for their long-range advantage and improved traps. They have been given an alternative-fighting pal called Warg. They can freely choose between using a Falcon or Warg. Their traps have been improved with a more reliable damage and synchronize activation using Detonator. Their arrow-based skills has also been enhanced with Aimed Bolt, Arrow Storm and Fear Breeze.

Endless Tower – Tenth Attempt

Overview:
Endless Tower is an instance dungeon that consists of 102 floors of increasing difficulty. Team members are challenged to eliminate all monsters in a room as fast as possible. To make the dungeon more challenging there are MVP rooms for every 5 floors. At the 100th floor of the tower resides Entweihen Crothen, which will be one of the team’s greatest battles. If the team managed to survive they will further proceed to a higher floor in which they will meet Naght Seiger. The top floor of the tower is where MVP Naght Seiger resides. For more detailed information regarding Endless Tower please refer to the iROwiki site.

Patch Notes: December 29, 2010

Photobucket

Patch notes are up again. And it's a Good News! We have a Modified Experience for the last week of the year until New Year. It's a great way to boost up the levels of our Characters this Holiday Season. Pack up your leveling needs now and start leveling up.

A minor Christmas Patch bugs has been fixed for the main servers. They also added fireworks effect on selected maps for the New Years. Then they also applied Christmas BGM for Prontera. Well that's all for the Christmas Patch.

I'm just curious about the Happy Citizen NPC on Sakray Server. I think I heard it before but I can't remember what it does. But if it's something new maybe we should watch out for it when it reach the main servers.

Lastly, grab the last week of Neuralizer sale. If you are planning to buy one for your Skill Reset do it this week. The original price is 350php so it's really a good deal to buy one now.

As for the rest of the patch notes read them after the break. Happy Leveling Up everyone! Expect extreme lag on our Valkyrie Server. (^^)v

War of Emperium – December 27, 2010

Siege has always been a competitive and strategic game play for me. I have been siege inactive for quite sometime when renewal hits because I’m concentrating on leveling up my characters. When I reached a certain point that I am able to cope with the changes I joined the siege.

I was shock with the Renewal siege. There are a lot of new skills, which literally owns everyone. I can say that the current siege now is more offensive than defensive. Most builds are now concentrating on one hit or two hit kill rather than creating a defensive or balanced built. Even if this is our situation I found a way to cope with the changes.

My first renewal siege post

Endless Tower – Eighth Attempt

Overview:
Endless Tower is the first instance dungeon that was introduced in Ragnarok Online. From the first moment that we entered the dungeon, our guild had a great attention for this adventure. The challenge of clearing the 102 floors flooded with monsters has continuously pumped our interest on this tower. Our guild had an awesome moment during the Seventh Attempt so we immediately organized a follow up climb. To the readers who don’t have any idea about Endless Tower, please visit the iRO wiki site.

Endless Tower – Seventh Attempt

Overview:
Endless Tower became the most anticipated guild events that we had. We already developed a habit of organizing this guild adventure for at least once a month. Climbing the Endless Tower requires a lot of resources and manpower so we planned ahead of time so that all members will have time to save up and clear their schedules. Just a quick trivia, Endless Tower doesn’t really have an infinite floor but a dungeon consisting of 102 floors where in on the top floor resides the fearsome MVP Naght Seiger. And our team is always aiming to face Naght Seiger.

Endless Tower – Fifth Attempt

The Overview:
Endless Tower is one of the greatest features that Ragnarok Online has developed for us adventurers. The tower consists of 102 floors where the top 2 floors houses the special MVPs Entweihen Crothen and Naught Sieger respectively. The tower promises an increasing difficulty as you go further up the tower. At every 5 levels, an MVP will test your capability of surviving further the tower. While in between these levels are regular monsters grouped according to a certain theme. For more detailed information regarding Endless Tower please refer to the iRO wiki site.

Endless Tower - Fourth Attempt

When: August 16, 2009
Where: Endless Tower
Previous Attempt: Endless Tower - Third Attempt

Endless Tower is one of my favorite features in Ragnarok Online. This dungeon entails a lot of challenge where in every level of the Tower has increasing difficulty. The said feature entails a lot of preparation and planning in order to finish a higher level part of the dungeon.

Endless Tower- Third Attempt

Overview:
Ragnarok Online has recently added a unique feature called instance dungeons. These dungeons are uniquely created for your party. Your party will be the only people who will be using that map. This maps has time limits in which you could finish the whole instance. The Endless Tower Dungeon is an instance dungeon which has been added during the Episode 12: Demise of Morroc. The Endless Tower is not really endless. It composes of 102 floors where the MVP Naght Seiger resides on the topmost floor. The time limit of finishing the dungeon is 4hours. For more info regarding the Endless Tower you may refer to iROwiki.

Attempts:
Our first attempt was simply to get to understand how an instance dungeon works and getting to know the mechanics of Endless Tower. The party was just small which is composed of a High Priest, a High Wizard and a Biochemist. We managed reached up to the 60th floor of the tower. Not bad for a start.

Our second attempt was to give another shot on Endless Tower with a more prepared party. The party is composed of a High Priest, a High Wizard, a Biochemist and a Bard. The party was somewhat boosted with the help of Bragi’s Poem of the Bard. Mobs were easy controlled and wiped out because of successive Storm Gusts and other spells. This time we went further up and ended at the 65th floor.

Now our third attempt has a bigger party and a more prepared one. The people behind my party we’re my real life friends plus my brother who used the Bard. As for me, I am using my dream character the Biochemist with my vanilmirth named Yahir. Our complete party line up is composed of the following:
  • Rich Kid Herbert a Biochemist – main MVP killer and support with Potion Pitcher
  • *~Rednegel~* a Paladin – tanker and support with Battle Chant and Heal
  • Hyper_Tori a High Wizard – mob control and secondary MVP killer
  • chazrelle a High Priest – main support
  • Rokuemon Matsuki a Bard – support with Bragi’s Poem and Idun’s Apple

Midgard Crowd Control Quest – Clock Tower Basement

Note: The quest has been implemented from November 24, 2010 to December 14, 2010

Overview:
The first Crowd Control Quest for renewal has been implemented in pRO! This is the fifth comeback of the quest and the selected map is another old school map. We have been through the freaky Glast Heim Prison, freezing Ice Dungeon, scary Sphinx Dungeon, alarming Clock Tower and now its time to explore the narrow paths of Clock Tower Basement. The quest will be giving away siege headgears which reduces demi-human damages. The complete details are posted in the pRO site.

Patch Notes: December 22, 2010

Photobucket

Merry Christmas everyone! Finally this week has the Christmas Patch. The much awaited snowy towns, giant Christmas tree and other Christmas designs will be seen on towns. Also on the patch is the Christmas Global Event which I don't have any idea how it does. Then again we will have more info in-game after maintenance.

Too bad Crimson Feather invasion has ended. To those who haven't tried the quest, there will always be the next time. We just have to demand its comeback on the unified forums.

Lastly, more hypermart sale and new headgears. Notice that no 4, 5 and 6 is missing. Maybe it's just a typo on their part. I don't want to give more details because everything is written on the patch notes. Read them all after the break.

Bed of Flowers

Disclaimer: I am not a woot advocate. It so happen that the bed of flowers caught my attention

I was about to check out the Prontera market when I bump into a High Thief dropping tremendous amount of flowers. These flowers are ordinary flowers which can be bought on an NPC. The scene is not new to me so I tried to follow the high thief.

Ragnarok Battle Grounds - Flavius

Overview:
Battle Grounds is one of the best end-game features of Ragnarok Online. It’s a faction PVP (player vs player) where in there are two teams competing to win the skirmish set by the battleground rules. To date there are three Battlegrounds available namely Tierra George, Flavius and Kreiger von Midgard. The battle on this feature is very rewarding because most of the powerful gears can be obtained here. For more detailed information about this feature please visit the iRO wiki site.

Episode 12.0 Satan Morroc in Philippine Ragnarok Online (pRO) brings to life the feature on Battle Grounds. The Battle Grounds is like the old feature Player versus Player (PvP) but with a War of Emperium (WoE) setting in which damages are reduced and there are also restricted skills like Body Relocation, Leap and others. Player Feedback

Photobucket

It's been a while since I started working on this site. And I'm very happy that the number of visitors in my site drastically increased. I want to thank everyone who regularly visits my site it really means a lot to me. I hope that each of you had gained even a slight information that is usable in your in-game life.

I'm also happy that there are no longer hate messages on pub at Alberta Hagdan when I'm AFK. Maybe this is a sign that the community is accepting my site as a legitimate site and not a hack site. In addition, I don't mind answering questions you throw in my pub. As long as I know the answer I'll share them to you.

As a way of giving back, I'm posting some of player's feedback that I got in-game. I hope to hear more comments and feedback. Thanks again. Read the feedback after the break.

Patch Notes: December 15, 2010

Photobucket

The patchnotes are up and they are now posted in the Unified Forums. I have a feeling that this week has the Christmas patch because of the release of Simbang Gabi Event in the main servers. We might see the Giant Christmas tree in Prontera and a snowy ambiance on towns.

The Crowd Control is over but that's ok since I have claimed the Siege Sweet Gent that I wanted. The Crimson Feather Invasion on the otherhand is still up so grab the opportunity to get the exclusive bloody headgears. I have no idea if this will be permanent or not but just to be safe perform the quest now or regret it later.

On the hypermart side, the much awaited Abysmal Knight card is out again. It's a great news for boss hunters out there specially the adventurers who are fond of Endless Tower. This is your chance to create your boss hunting weapons. Another great hypermart offer is the come back of Evolved Orc Hero Helm. It's the only headgear which boost your HP by 10%. For the new headgears, I have no details at the moment but we will surely see what it offers in-game after maintenance. Grab them now.

For the complete patch notes read them after the break.

Name Change Service

Overview:
The Name Change is a limited service offer by pRO where it usually lasts for a week. The release of this service is very rare due to the influx of players availing the service. Because of this service your character will have a fresh identity free from the shadows of your previous name.

Photobucket

  • Guild Masters cannot have a name change to avoid bugs with the guild skills. (Guild Master has to break guild for them to qualify)
  • Players who will have their names changed must leave their guild, party, un-equip all items prior to having their names changed, leave 1000z on the character and delete ALL friend's list.
  • Vulgar names are not allowed.

Sealed Shrine – 5th Attempt

When: May 11, 2010
Where: Sealed Shrine, St. Capitolina Abbey
Reference Link: iROwiki Site
Previous Attempts:

The Sealed Shrine is a dungeon in which the Great Baphomet resides. From our previous attempts we already have presented the different facts and mechanics for this instance dungeon. And for this run, we are now more on hunting for the precious Cursed Baphomet Doll rather than having an adventure for this dungeon.

The party composition is still the same which is a Paladin, a Soul Linker, a High Wizard and two High Priests. We went through the same tasks on finding the Pendant of Spirit, gathering 10pcs of Essensce of Fire and 1pc of Token of Apostle for each member. The battle with the Great Baphomet is smooth using the same strategy. Although we successfully re-sealed the Great Baphomet again, we didn't received any Cursed Baphomet Doll but we do hope that we will have it on our next attempt.

Sealed Shrine – 4th Attempt

When: May 6, 2010
Where: Sealed Shrine, St. Capitolina Abbey
Reference Link: iROwiki Site
Previous Attempts:

The Sealed Shrine is a very interesting instance dungeon. It houses the Great Baphomet whose seal is weakening over the time. The task given for the adventurers is to fortify the seals and re-seal the Great Baphomet once again.

After our first successful attempt on the Sealed Shrine, our guild organized another attempt on this dungeon. We are very excited to try again our luck with our improved strategy. The members of the party were still the same because they were the only members available during that time. The team is composed of a Paladin, a Soul Linker, a High Wizard and two Priest.

Just like on our previous runs, we went to St.Capitolina Abbey and created our own instance of the Sealed Shrine. When our instance was ready we entered the dungeon one at a time to prevent an unwanted bug. We went through the whole process of finding the Pendant of Spirit, collecting the 10pcs of Essensce of Fire and 1pc of Token of Apostle for each member inorder to finish the tasks on the first floor.

At the second floor of the Catacomb lies the Main Altar where the Great Baphomet is sealed.Since I'm chosen to play the Paladin role, my job is to lure the Great Baphomet after I summoned him. The rest of the team is setting up at a corner of the catacomb and waiting for me to lure the Great Baphomet. I immedietely run towards the alter and started summoning the Great Baphomet. When he has awaken, I lured him towards the team and performed the magic. During the magic, everyone is concentrating on their role but of coarse there are still flaws which time to time ruins the tempo of the team. In the end we managed to defeat the Great Baphomet again. The loot drops are not that good again but we are still happy for a successful run.

Sealed Shrine – 3rd Attempt

Overview:
The Sealed Shrine is one of the features of Ragnarok Online which uses the concept of an instance dungeon. Instance Dungeons are dungeons created specifically to your party and other adventurers outside the party are not allowed to enter your own instance. On this dungeon, the team will be forced to be more strategic on how to seal the Great Baphomet. The navigation skills of the team will also be tested because the dungeon itself is a maze and the mini map will not help. The dungeon has a cool down of 12 hours so the party could re-enter the dungeon twice a day. For a more detailed info about Sealed Shrine please visit the iROwiki site.

Sunday, December 12, 2010

Sealed Shrine – 2nd Attempt

Overview:
Our guild has once again gained interest in exploring another Instance Dungeon called the Sealed Shrine. The sealed shrine houses the sealed Great Baphomet that entails a great thread to the whole of midgard. The monks of St. Capitolina Abbey now seek help from great adventurers to once again re-seal the great demon. The dungeon has a 12hr cool down unlike the Endless Tower with 1 week cool down so adventurers could regularly challenge the Great Baphomet. For the complete quest guide please visit the iRO wiki site.

Sealed Shrine – 1st Attempt

Overview:
The Sealed Shrine houses the Great Baphomet who has been sealed in the depths of St.Capitolina. The Baphomet in this shrine is far more powerful than the Baphomet found in the Mjolnir Maze. Because of Satan Morroc the seal of the Great Baphomet has been weakened and the threat of the monster being release is getting near. The adventurers are now invited to re-seal the Great Baphomet to finally lock the MVP forever. For the complete quest guide please visit the iRO wiki site.

Alberta Hagdan Tambays

Recently, All I do in-game is to idle at the stairs of Alberta promoting my site because I was too lazy to do anything. The only activity I do in-game is to perform the Daily Quest for all my characters. On a random event, I saw my friend Pak and Blur chatting at the top part of the stairs. I joined in the discussion and showed off my character. I told them that I have a specially designed Shadow Chaser which I use to draft the headers for my site. I scribbled random words on the ground and let it stay until the duration ends.

"Alberta Hagdan Tambays" sitting while wearing our respective 3rd job exclusive headgear

Suddenly, I had an idea to scribble "Alberta Hagdan Tambays" because we are the lurkers of Alberta. Blur then had an idea to take screen shot of us with my scribble. I envied him so I also took screenshots for my site. By the way, we are not the one who came up with the Alberta Hagdan term but Cef and his friends. We just shared the same "Tambayan" so we adopted the term "Alberta Hagdan" and added "Tambays" referring to players in the area. Now our number in the area is growing because of the Daily Quest craze and we are happy to share our "Tambayan" with other players.

Standing version of the picture above

Alberta is getting crowded day after day. Unlike before it's just a few of us. As they say the more the merrier. More people means we can have random casual talk with people on our "Tambayan". We can also gain more friends this way. Anyone can visit us in our "Tambayan" but be careful with posers!

News: Ragnaboards bids Farewell

Photobucket

For so many years Ragnaboards has been the official forums for Philippine Ragnarok Online Players where we discuss everything about Ragnarok. Last December 6, 2010 the Ragnaboards forums has officially bid farewell. Lots of memories, information and rants has been lost but it will remain in our minds and hearts.

Whenever you enter the Ragnaboards link it will now be re-directed to the Unified Forums at the Level Up! Games domain. The unified forums is a forum which covers all Level Up's published games. They aim to let players from various games interact with gamers other than players in their respective games. Compared to Ragnaboards, the Unified forums is strict in terms of implementing board rules like signatures and posting threads. Adapting to the new forums is hard on the first time but eventually we will get used to it.

What I like About the new forums is the permanent Edit Button in which you can edit your post anytime you want. What I didn't like on the boards is the lay out design and strict rule for signatures. >_<

As they say change is the only thing permanent in this world so we have to get use to it. Sign up now and join in the discussions and let your voice be heard in the new forums.

Patch Notes: December 8, 2010

Photobucket

Here's my late replication of the patch notes. The GMs posted these patch notes at their official facebook account and I cannot access it in the office. So this is my only time to write this post.

We don't have any interesting item listed on the patch this week aside from the new headgears on Hypermart. However the Crimson Dawn Event and Crowd Control: High Orcs are still implemented in-game to keep us busy for this week. This maybe the last week for these quests so grab the opportunity to finish these quests.

For the complete patchnotes read them after the break.

War of Emperium - September 11, 2010

When: September 11, 2010
Where: WoE1 Agits

Ragnarok guilds has a strong force that bonds each member together. Our guild Armor of God has that bond until it has been dormant for several months because of inactive guild masters. Because of inactivity most of the members had been affiliated with other guilds while others lie lowed due to real life reasons.

I came up with an idea to somehow re-lived the sweet battles of my dear guild so I tried to inform some guild members about the one time only siege. I don't really expect to get a large number of participant just like the old days because I proposed to have a self supply siege. Luckily Shadow Ace agreed to be our GM for the siege. During the actual siege we only have six active participant and three guildmates who asks for supply. Of course because of my self supply proposal these members participated for a few minutes then went offline. For the duration of the siege the fate of the guild is now in the hands of Shadow Ace, Aerin, Jaina Drei, Blur, Blitz and me.

War of Emperium - August 16, 2010

When: August 16, 2010
Where: WoE2 Agits

The War of Emperium last August 16 had an unexpected tides of battle. I joined the Ruff Riders guild for this siege because I believe in their strategies and capabilities as a guild. Before the battles started, by default we went to our currently owned agit to defend it from possible attacks. The initial defense also provides us time to regrouping and wait for late members who are still preparing for WoE.

Not to long, our guild master had started scouting for possible targets in the next few minutes. As time passes by, we were Emergency Called into different agits. Our current agit on the other hand has been taken over by other guilds because we left it undefended.

The succeeding minutes proves that our guild is serious in taking over the opposing alliance home agits. Because of our guilds action, we caught the attention of the opposing alliance and in effect their alliance rushed into our currently owned agit with full force. The whole two hours of our guilds siege had been turned into an action packed siege from mere defending. We had great skirmishes and barricade battles as we respawn and attack.

My personal favorite part of that day's siege is the shot that I had above. Our guild currently had all barricades and guardian stones intact. We are in a situation where in we had the attention of the opposing guild. Because of the influx of attacks from the opposing guild we are forced to concentrate on defending one guardian stone while leaving the other guardian stone unattended. The unusual paths of Andlerangh Guardian stone rooms had given us an advantage. The funnel like design of the path made easy for our guild to defend the Guardian Stone room because the opposing alliance had no choice but to pass through the narrow road. Our guild could take down the attackers one after the other while the opposing guild had a hard time advancing. It's like the scene in 300 where the Spartans took advantage of the terrain. At the end of the siege we were able to defend the agit til the very end.

War of Emperium - May 22, 2010

When: May 22, 2010
Where: Nidhoggur Agit

The War of Emperium is the best feature of Ragnarok Online. It unites players to form guilds and prove their power through engaging with other guilds. Most players enjoys the skirmishes between their guilds with the other guilds in Rune Midgard . The aim of the War of Emperium is to break the Emperium that resides at the heart of an Agit and claim that castle your own. After a successful conquer, the guild now shifts to defense mode in order to protect the castle from guilds aiming to conquer it.

Last May 22 in the year of 2010, A great battle between opposite alliance has taken place. The timing of the battle is crucial because the scoring for the Agit Lords is about to end. The guilds with the highest points at the end of the Agit Lords will be able to compete for the Ragnarok Philippine Championship 2010.

At the start of the siege, our guild is on defense mode inside our own castle and we stayed there for the first 30mins. Most members were already restless because defending without intruders is boring. Suddenly our guild master used Emergency Call on an agit somewhere in Nidhoggur. I was surprised to see that there are lots of familiar guilds inside the agit. I knew there is something going on that our guild master did not tell us in advance. I checked out the alliance tab on the guild window so that I know whom to attack. Our guild master then made an announcement to the guild that we will be taking the castle down.

At first I thought, it's just a random attack mode for the guild but I was surprised to see an alliance clash. Well to define alliance clash, It's a battle between opposite alliance in which an alliance consists of 2 guilds or more. I haven't felt the adrenaline rush from the War of Emperium for a long time and this battle definitely refreshed that feeling. The quantity of players battling on both sides were enormous. Surviving is really essential at this point. A successful kill is also a big help for the alliance.

The battle was fierce at the entrance because the defense is tight. The only thing that successfully infiltrates the castle was a successful Emergency Call from our alliance. Our guild master was able to summon us every 5mins inside the castle. Each successful summon brings fierce battles which weakens the defense capability of the opposite alliance. We had a hard time pushing the enemies on both Guardian Stones but the alliance was successful in breaking them. After both Guardian Stones was crushed, the battle now is shifted to Barricade battles where in the owner of the castle was on the other side of the Barricade while the rest were at the other side. Just like the entrance battles, the Barricade battles were also intense. Our alliance pushed and pushed the defenses until all barricades were down. When all barricades were down, it comes down to the battle at the Emperium Room. The breaking was quick and our alliance was successful with their aim.

The large part of the our time was spent on breaking the defenses of the target castle. It was a phenomenal battle and a rare sight nowadays. I'm happy to be part of this great battle. I'm looking forward on experiencing such battles in the future.
