Ragnarok Korean Championship 2017

Ragnarok Championships are the so called e-sports of Ragnarok Online. They game have this tournament even before the term e-sports has been popularized. Basically the format of the tournament is a 7 on 7 players using the different classes with no repeating jobs. Each player has a the same fixed amount of zeny to budget. The equipment and supplies are listed with prices according to their effect, importance and overall impact. There are a lot of rules for the game and some notable ones are upgrading the equipment will be until safe limit, no cards or equips with 100% resistance to status ailments, no trading, Emperium will be purchased during the tournament etc.

I stumbled upon the video of Ragnarok Korean Championship 2017 while browsing the posted videos of Gravity Corporation. I was excited to see happened to the tournaments since I was out of Ragnarok Online loop since pRO has shut down.

jRO Renewal Promotional Video

Renewal has been out to almost all official servers in the world. Ragnarok Online was drastically changed with its release. Most common ragnarok info were outdated and we have to relearn the mechanics of the game once again. jRO was first to release a promotional video containing renewal info and the change that happened. Although it was intended for Japanese players the visuals was enough to let a ragnarok online veteran understand the meaning of the details flashed in the video. So what are you waiting for? Watch the video after the break and see for yourself.

Ragnarok World Championship 2004

Ragnarok World Championship has always been the highlight of every competitive player of Ragnarok Online. But have you seen the old school competition of RWC? Well, I've been lurking in YouTube and found an interesting post which might tickle your sense of competition. It's the RWC 2004 competition in South Korea. I have no idea what the rules are before but it seems both teams are using only 1 Wizard and 1 Priest. Oh! you heard it right they are using 3-1 jobs. This is the time where the only available class is until 3-1 jobs only. The fun thing about the video is that it's a 9 on 9 chaotic battle. So what are you waiting for, watch the video after the break.

Ragnarok Funny Story

A friend of mine shared this funny Ragnarok video at Facebook. I find the video funny, interesting and ragnarok related so I'm sharing this to you. Just to give you a preview, its about players who experience a epic fails in-game but presented in a very funny way. Some parts also depicts players who are bitter with other players and they strive to be the best. Honestly, I didn't understand a single text on the video because almost everything is written in Korean even the skills. But the bubble emotions and choice of actions of the characters clearly transcends to all Ragnarok players even with the language barrier. I'm not sure if the setting of the video is in kRO but I guess it is.

Watch the video after the break. Enjoy (^^)v

LU Live 2010 Film Fest Winner

I forgot to post this last year. Last years LU Live 2010 Film Fest Winner is a Ragnarok Online entry. I've watch it personally during the event and I can say it's the best entry among the other entries. The scene revolves on the War of Emperium in which most ragnarok players then and now can relate to. There are various reactions from the audience when this video is played. I guess most of the audience can relate to the video. For you to have an idea on what I'm saying watch the video below. I recommend that you watch it in full screen to feel and to see the details. The clip is entitled Me and My Falcon.

Last Minutes of euRO

Ragnarok Online Europe also known as euRO has come to its end. I found a video posted at ragnaboards capturing the last moments of the players who bid good bye to their servers. The servers of euRO has shut down last September 30, 2010 because they failed to renew their license with Gravity Inc. From what I've read euRO players will be transferring to Ragnarok Online France (fRO). I have no idea with the legalities of their transfer but it's so sad for their part to say good bye to their dear server. For additional info you can read the iRO wiki forums.

While I'm watching the video a lot of memories suddenly flashed back. The background music "Streamside" made it even more touching because it's the first field BGM that you will hear during the beta days of pRO. I'm touched with the video because it shows the last good byes of the players with their dear server together with their friends, guildmates and even strangers.
