Elven Piercing

Overview:
During the Beta days of pRO, the only available slotted mid gear is the epic Sunglasses [1]. The said item is only obtainable by opening an Old Violet Box. After some episodes the said item is no longer obtainable by any means. Those who already have the item was able to keep this valuable item up to the present. However, when Renewal hits the servers slotted mid gears are once again made available in-game. This time Elven Ears gained is former glory because currently it is the only mid gear that can undergo the Piercing process.

Rely on luck for piercing an Elven Ears

Quest Requirements:

• 1 Elven Ears

Note: Item is available on hypermart. At some point it has been released as a freebie for CnR promo.

• 1 Auger of Spirit

How to Pierce:

Find the Piercing Expert located between the mid kafra and lower kafra of Prontera. Be very keen in spotting the NPC because there are times that vendors covers the NPC with their vends.

NPC responsible for Elven Piercing

Talk to the Piercing Expert and he'll be giving brief instructions. He'll be warning you that both the Elven Ears and The Auger of Spirit will disapper when it fails. But if it succeeds you'll receive a slotted Elven Ears but the Auger of Spirit will always be consumed on the process.

Agree to Pierce the Elven Ears

Once you agreed the Piercing Expert will start to slot your Elven Ears. A cast bar and a smithing animation will appear above your head indicating that you are in the process of slot enchantment.

Congratulations you now have an Elven Ears if successful! The NPC will tell you that the chance of successful slot enchantment is 20%. But then again getting successful on piercing all boils down to real life luck.

New Location:
The Piercing Expert has been moved inside the Upgrading Building as part of the changes from the December 21, 2011 patch. Upon entering the Upgrading building at center Prontera there will be three rooms. The first room is middle room that contains the NPCs for upgrading. The relocated NPC is to the left of the middle room.
