Overview:
Battle Grounds is one of the best end-game features of Ragnarok Online. It’s a faction PVP (player vs player) where in there are two teams competing to win the skirmish set by the battleground rules. To date there are three Battlegrounds available namely Tierra George, Flavius and Kreiger von Midgard. The battle on this feature is very rewarding because most of the powerful gears can be obtained here. For more detailed information about this feature please visit the iRO wiki site.
How to get there:
Previously I have made a detailed guide on how to enter the battlegrounds. Also included on the journal are the strategies and game play of Tierra George Map. Please refer to my journal Ragnarok Battle Grounds – Tierra George for additional information.
As a comparison with Tierra George, Flavius has a similar NPC to talk to in order to participate. The Flavius Officers are on the 2nd and 4th posts from the left of the battlegrounds. Once you agreed to participate on the battles, the officers will automatically take you to the waiting room. However, if there are still players battling inside the Flavius map, the officers will not allow you to enter the waiting room. Before, 20 people are needed on both Croix and Guillaume faction in order to play but now they changed it to 10 people on both sides to hasten the game play.
How to play:
Flavius is a small map that leans more on player battles rather than relying on guardians to do the job. Both teams spawn at a fixed point. Guillaume team spawns at the lower left part of the map while Croix team spawns at the upper right part of the map.
Players do not need to join a party in order to play. When you have spawned in the Flavius map all team members will see each other’s health points. Opposing team on the other hand will have a sword shaped as X above their head that indicates they are enemies.
The aim of the game is to destroy the opposing teams’ Crystal located at the horizontal ends of the map. However the Crystal is invulnerable until the Guardians protecting the Crystal is destroyed. So in order to win the teams must eliminate first the two Guardians with any means. The Guardians on this map is furious and can be compared with the guardians of Thor Dungeon.
After both guardians have been destroyed, the team now aims to destroy the opposing teams’ Crystal. Breaking the crystal takes time because it has a plant-like defense where in it receive 1 damage per hit. So the opposing team could still defend their own crystal while the other team is trying to break it.
When the opposing team's Crystal has been destroyed the team will gain 1 win for the match. The first team to gain 2 wins will be the overall winner.
Strategies:
Strategy for Flavius is very essential because fighting the guardians head on is a very hard task. A single guardian could wipe the whole team if caught unprepared.
Hiding your own guardian at a corner helps confused the enemies on the whereabouts of your Guardians. The strategy gives enough time for your team to defeat the opposing team’s Guardian while the other team is still scouting for your missing guardians.
After getting used to Flavius, the term Snipe Area becomes popular among the players. Snipe Area refers to the platform located on both Croix and Guillaume Base. When the Guardian is placed at the Snipe Area, Long range attacks can be launched without actually battling the Guardians. It’s an easy kill for your team. But watch out for hidden enemies like Stalkers and Asassin Cross which will lure out Guardians inside the Snipe Area.
There is also Snipe Area near the entrance on opposite bases. The snipe area here is not as effective as the Snipe Area on the platform because the Guardians tend to move whenever they have a player within their sight range. However using this snipe area speeds up the process of positioning the guardians on the snipe area. All you have to do is to move towards the enemies’ base then lure them on the Snipe Area. Another strategy is spawn camping. Basically this strategy is preventing the opposing players get out of the spawn area by bombarding their spawn with attacks. The strategy is rather rude but ensures victory.
Tanking strategy is also effective but a Champion or Monk in Steal Body is needed. A Priest is also needed to Heal the tanker while the other members attack the Guardian.
One-man team characters are also popular strategy. A properly geared Assassin Cross could tank and kill a Guardian single handedly. If I’m not mistaken he used Ring of Resonance and Ring of Flame Lord to activate auto skills. Assumptio is supposed to be prohibited on the map however Assumptio triggered from Ring of Resonance is an exemption. A fast cast or instant cast High Wizard could also do the same job. The key to Guardian killing is casting Quagmire and Storm Gust while trying to avoid contact with the Guardian. Do the skills repeatedly until the Guardian is destroyed.
Note: Type /battlechat to activate the battle grounds chatting system. This will enable you to send messages to your teammates. However all your messages such as everyone, party and guild will be deactivated. To revert the chatting system type /battlechat again.
Rewards:
Flavius Battlegrounds rewards players with Valor Badges. Winning team will receive 9 Valor Badges while losing team will receive 4 Valor Badges. For Premium users, each game will earn you an additional 2 Valor Badges which means winners will receive 11 Valor Badges and losers will receive 5 Valor Badges.
The Valor Badges can be exchanged to Erundek and receive Battle Grounds weapons, armor, shield or shoes. Valor and Bravery Badges has the same rewards in terms of armor, shield and shoes but they differ with regards to weapons. Please refer to the sites below for the complete list of items obtained in the battle grounds.

nung nsa valkyrie pa q, sa flav aq madalas since back then d aq sumasali sa WOE. umaga plang, nsa flav w8ing rum nq. na-enjoy q to, sobra! d2 q dn na-meet ibang players na eventually na-convince aq na sumali sa guild nila then aun, i experienced my 1st WOE with them :D
sadly, dhl sa mga top-up events eh biglang tumamlay an battlegrounds hanggang sa tuluyan nang natigok. buti sa valkyrie somehow my ngoorganize pa ng battles, sa new iris wla tlaga >_<
Hindi ka nag iisa sa dating battle grounds. Adik din ako dyan. yung mga nagtatawag sa valkyrie panay mga adik sa PK. buti nakakabuo pa nga ng 10vs10
