Endless Tower – Ninth Attempt

Overview:
Endless Tower has been our hobby as a guild since we first entered its grounds. The Endless Tower runs for 4 hours in which boost most of our adrenaline on every MVP floors. It has one week cool down but that’s bearable because that time is enough for the participants to recharge their supplies. It has a total of 102 floors fully packed with increasing difficulty. The top floor of the tower is where MVP Naght Seiger resides. For more detailed information regarding Endless Tower please refer to the iROwiki site.

Previous Attempts:
Our guild is enjoying this feature for almost one year now and we still have plans on doing more adventures here. The first three attempts were more on experimental because we climbed the tower out of curiosity. We got hooked with the challenge of the tower so became serious with the rest of our attempts. The team always had a full 12-man party in which it always consists of tankers, killers and support classes with varying job class. For every attempt that we made, we always foresee to surpass the previous attempt that we have. In this way our party composition and equipments had evolved together with our strategies. At some point in our runs, we also have collaborated with other trusted guilds to boost our manpower. For a detailed story of our attempts please read my journals below.

The Cast:
Our party composition is very important to us because we aim balance our damage dealers, tankers and support characters for us to survive higher floors. Essential characters with optimized equipment were always the best pick for us. We also have taken note of the talent of our members regarding the handling of their own character and their capability to self supply their needs. We want to have minimal errors on our strategies for each floor because aside from the challenge with the hoards of monsters we are also racing for time. For our team composition for this run kindly see below.

  • Angel a Soul Linker – Eske support and Link support
  • Trisha Kate a High Priest – Healing and Buff support
  • Malagantus a Paladin – Tanker and main killer for High End MVPs
  • Blur a High Wizard – mob control and killer for Ghost type MVP
  • SmartClip a Biochemist – mob control and killer for Low End MVPs
  • Rich Kid Herbert a Biochemist – mob control and killer for Low End MVPs
  • SGV-417-L a Champion – tanker and killer for Low End MVPs
  • Lite a High Priest – Healing, Buff Support and Resurrection support for High End MVP
  • Master Legender a Biochemist – mob control and killer for Low End MVPs
  • Pak a High Priest – Healing, Buff Support and Resurrection support for High End MVP
  • Rokuemon Matsuki a Minstrel – Performance support
  • Ju-Pao a Champion – tanker and killer for Low End MVP

The Adventure:

Getting Warmed Up:
Each member of our team is getting pumped up again because of another attempt to conquer the Endless Tower. As our usual way of doing things we had a briefing at our secret assembly area. Members were reminded on their roles and how they will perform on every strategy that we have came up for some floors. We also had reminded the team of the different consumables that essential for our climb like Token of Siegfried, Bubble Gum, Gems, Food Buffs and others. When everything was ready we marched towards the Sea Captain in Alberta to start our 9th Attempt.

MVP floors form 5th to 75th:
The MVPs covered on this area were very easy for our team. We don’t have any specific strategy for them but to bombard them with all our damage dealing skills. As you have noticed we have a lot of low-end MVP killers for this run because we want to achieve a faster phase in dealing with the monsters at the lower levels. At some point during the climb, I failed to take screen shots on some MVPs because they were easily been taken down.

80th Floor
MVP: Fallen Bishop Hibram
Monster: Necromancer
Difficulty: Challenging
Comment: Fallen Bishop Hibram has always been our sign that marks that the floors we’re about to take from here are challenging. Before we start our strategy for him, we instructed the team to be in position while someone lures the MVP. During the first part of our encounter with the Fallen Bishop we had a smooth way of dealing damage for him. When he started casting magical skills the team had a hard time damaging him and he started to shift targets and slay members near him. As he tried to kill everyone, the rest of the members had to continuously re-organize the formation and throw everything that we’ve got. We managed to sustain this kind of strategy until we finally defeated him.

85th Floor
MVP: Ifrit
Monster: none
Difficulty: Extra Challenging
Comment: Ifrit is no doubt a very fast and insane damage dealer. Thanks to the magic strategy we were able to confront him without wasting too much supply.

90th Floor
MVP: Valkyrie Rangis
Monster:  Baroness of Retribution, False Angel and Lady Solace
Difficulty: Extra Challenging
Comment: Valkyrie Rangis is also a very hard to deal MVP because of her high damage output plus the fact that she casts Dispell which removes most of the protective buffs of the target. Just like with Ifrit, we managed to defeat him with the use of the magic strategy. It was fast and convenient way to save time, supply and effort.

95th Floor
MVP: Beelzebub
Monster:  Dragon Fly, Hunter Fly, Chonchon and Steel Chonchon
Difficulty: Extra Challenging
Comment: Beelzebub is not that threatening in terms of damage output but he’s scary in terms of inflicting several status ailments. During the encounter, we used the magic strategy on him but we noticed that nothing is happening to him. We constantly used Sense just to check his life weather we are reducing his health or not. In the end we have realized that whenever our High Priests has delays in resurrecting Beelzebub becomes idle and casts Full Heal. The casting of Full Heal became frequent so the solution that we have come up with is to perform the magic on a faster phase. We were able to do the magic smoothly at the cost of some errors in execution.

100th Floor
MVP: Entweihen Crothen
Monster: Thorn of Recovery, Thorny Skeleton, Thorn of Magic and Thorn of Purification
Difficulty: Bloody Hard
Comment: The 100th floor is filled with Thorns and at the center resides Entweihen Crothen. A single Thorn could wipe the team one at a time. Our planned strategy this time is to target one Thorn at a time until we could reach Entweihen Crothen that is why we have lined up 3 Biochemist for this job. We will be using brute force in order to take down some of the thorns and eventually we will take down the MVP. By the time we reached the floor, we don’t have much space to walk on because a Thorn could already reach us. With our Biochemist ready for the job we bombed that Thorn until it’s down. Then tried to select another Thorn to bomb so that we could advance towards the MVP. The timing and support is crucial during this part because we need to bomb the Thorns but the thorns has the needed reach to attack us so we need support like Sanctuary, Pnuema, Bragi’s Poem, Blessing and Devotion. During the coarse of time we were able to knock out at around 4 Thorns and the MVP could be sniped already. We tried our best to bomb Entweihen Crothen but he retaliates with Meteor Storm not to mention other Thorns are attacking us also. We managed to do some damage dropping his life a little lower but the damage dealt on us was greater and taking us down. As we are recovering and re-organizing, the thorns from all sides were attacking us so as expected we died again. As we tried to regroup and attack, we consumed so much time already that we have been kicked out of the Tower. The time is over and we still didn’t defeat Entweihen Crothen.

Analysis:
Our party composition was perfect for this run but I think our execution is not that good. We don’t have problems during the lower levels of the Tower because we managed to save precious time as we rushed our climb. At the floor of Fallen Bishop Hibram, we have expected to have a long battle because we already know his capabilities. We burned just enough time for his floor. For the magic strategies, Ifrit and Rangis have been executed perfectly but for Beelzebub we have some trouble. We wasted so much time for Beelzebub which deceases our time allotted for the next floors. As we reached Entweihen Crothen, we only have a few minutes to battle and to adjust our strategy that’s why we have failed on his floor. For the next run we will try to use the same party composition or organize a similar one because I believe we can defeat Entweihen Crothen through Brute Force.

Credits:
I would like to extend my gratitude to my guild Bozanstvena Staratelje for participating in this run. Also I would like to thank our friends from Excidium whom we shared our pain in climbing the Tower. Without these dedicated teammates we will not be able to confront the 100th Floor MVP Entweihen Crothen. Til the next attempt (^^)v
