Endless Tower – Seventh Attempt

Overview:
Endless Tower became the most anticipated guild events that we had. We already developed a habit of organizing this guild adventure for at least once a month. Climbing the Endless Tower requires a lot of resources and manpower so we planned ahead of time so that all members will have time to save up and clear their schedules. Just a quick trivia, Endless Tower doesn’t really have an infinite floor but a dungeon consisting of 102 floors where in on the top floor resides the fearsome MVP Naght Seiger. And our team is always aiming to face Naght Seiger.

Previous Adventures:
Each time we climb the Endless Tower our team managed to surpass the previous attempts. We also tried to plan out the party composition each time so that we will be able to maximize the survival capability of the team thus reducing the expense for resources on going up the tower. For those who were curious on what happened on our previous attempts, the links below will give you a gist of our adventures.

Our first two attempts were just testing the waters so it’s nothing serious. The party composition is not even close to a full party.

.
The Cast:
Just like our previous runs, we are very optimistic that we will be able to surpass our previous attempts. We had a forecast that we will surpass Ifrit’s lair this time so we carefully planned the team to compose optimal members. As for the lineup, we initially didn’t plan for a double paladin but because of an unfortunate event we had a last minute change in the line up where in we changed the High Priest for a Paladin. Below is the list of participating members.

  • AngeL-Linker a Soul Linker – provides link support and Eske on high-end MVPs
  • Lite a High Priest – support and the main priest for Sanctuary and Pnuema
  • Pak a High Priest – support and main priest for buffs especially Assumptio
  • Rich Kid Herbert a Biochemist – one of the MVP killers for low end MVPs and upper floor mob control
  • Malagantus a Paladin – main MVP killer for high end MVPs
  • SAV-326-D/9 a High Priest – mob control priest and main support priest for the high end MVP
  • Blur a High Wizard – main mob control killer for most of the floors
  • Dimple a Professor – provides SP support, safety walls and land enchantments
  • Injong a Minstrel – our main performer support
  • Rednegel a Paladin – main support for devotion and lurer
  • Shadow-Ace a Champion – our main tanker
  • Ju-Pao a Champion – one of the low end MVP killers especially with Hibram and mob control

The Adventure:
Preparations
Before entering the Tower, each member was briefed on the different items to bring like potions, green potions, tokens, insurance (for members with experience), bubble gum (for killers), food buffs (for those who needs stat boost) and extra ROK for purification stone (for re-entering the tower in case of disconnection). Their roles were also discussed so that during the floor clearing especially on MVP floors they will be able to concentrate on their assigned task and not doing other things. Specific gears for their role were also been discussed earlier to each member so that they could prepare in advance. There are certain mandated gears like the Hodremlin shield and Alice shield that we ask on some members but most gears are of personal choice that will be beneficial for their role.

5th Floor
MVP: Golden Thief Bug
Monsters: Female Thief Bug, Male Thief Bug, Thief Bug and Thief Bug Egg
Difficulty: No Sweat
Comment: Just like our previous runs, MVP Golden Thief Bug is the easiest MVP and we don’t have any strategy for taking him out.

10th Floor
MVP: Mistress
Monster: Giant Hornet and Hornet
Difficulty: No Sweat
Comment: MVP Mistress is also one of the easiest MVP and we also don’t have any specific strategy for taking her out.

15th Floor
MVP: Phreeoni and Maya
Monsters: Andre, Deniro, Piere and Ant Egg
Difficulty: Extremely Easy
Comment: The 15th floor is the first floor to showcase a dual MVP where in it contains MVP Phreeoni and MVP Maya. During our run we first encounter Maya and as expected she went down easily. Then moving further up the floor we encountered Phreeoni and just like Maya he went down easily too.

20th Floor
MVP: Drake
Monster: Pirate Skeleton
Difficulty: Very Easy
Comment: The room of MVP Drake is an easy one. During the fight one of our High Priest even laid down his Magnus Exorcismus while the rest of the team are eager taking him down.

25th Floor
MVP: Moonlight
Monster: Cat O’ Nine Tails and Ninetails
Difficulty: Easy to kill, Hard to spot
Comment: The floor of MVP Moonlight is full of monsters that basically help Moonlight to camouflage. Due to our aggressive team, the mobs were easily been taken cared of leaving Moonlight alone and prone to attacks. There’s no other task left for us but to bombard her with our attacks.

30th Floor
MVP: White Lady
Monster: Evil Nymph
Difficulty: Easy to kill, Hard to spot
Comment: The floor of MVP White Lady is full of Evil Nymphs that helps her camouflage. But because most of the mob had already been down finding White Lady is not a problem anymore. We just bombard her with our loving attacks and she’s down.

35th Floor
MVP: Turtle General
Monster: Freezer, Heater, Permeter, Assaulter and Solider
Difficulty: Easy
Comment: The room of MVP Turtle General is full of bulk turtles that are easily taken cared of with our High Wizard. When finally Turtle General made its appearance, we immediately gave him a warm welcome of attacks.

40th Floor
MVP: Samurai Specter
Monster: Miyabi Doll, Shinobi, Tengu, Firelock Soldier and Karakasa
Difficulty: Easy
Comment: From our previous runs, the room of MVP Samurai Specter is the start of having casualties on our team. In order to prevent casualties, we immediately bombard him with our powerful attacks and taking him out in less than a minute.

45th Floor
MVP: Osiris
Monster: Mummy, Ancient Mummy and Verit
Difficulty: Easy
Comment: MVP Osiris is also a formidable MVP where in from our previous attempts there were also casualties because of improper formation and distance. For this run, we managed to keep distance and let our tank do his trick while we launched our attacks from a distance.

50th Floor
MVP: Amon Ra and Pharaoh
Monster: Anubis, Matyr and Marduk
Difficulty: Easy
Comment: Here’s another dual MVP room where in the theme is about the morroc’s pyramids. During our run, we had MVP Amon Ra and MVP Pharaoh on a separate encounter. First to welcome us was Amon Ra but he didn’t last that long. As we moved further up the room, Pharaoh rushed towards our team and just like Amon Ra he didn’t last long.

55th Floor
MVP: Evil Snake Lord
Monster: Medusa, Isis and Sidewinder
Difficulty: Easy
Comment: MVP Evil Snake Lord would be our first Ghost type MVP so we let our High Wizard do the damaging and killing. He is not that strong but he casts a lot of annoying status ailments to the team.

60th Floor
MVP: Doppelganger and Boss Enigem Cenia
Monster: Enigem Cenia, Errende Ebecee, Kavatch Icarus, Laurell Weinder, Whickebine Tres and Armeyer Dinze
Difficulty: Easy to Moderate
Comment: This room is another dual MVP in which both have the characteristic of a biolabs monster. MVP Boss Enigem Cenia was the first to attack our team but I haven’t noticed her. We haven’t realized that she was the real deal when she drop some of her valuable loots. MVP Doppelganger on the other hand is noticeable because of his Nightmare mobs. Clearing his mobs exposed Doppelganger and he became susceptible to our attacks. In the end he was also defeated.

65th Floor
MVP: Atroce
Monster: Galion
Difficulty: Moderate to Difficult
Comment: I consider the room of MVP Atroce as the start of the real challenge of the tower. Atroce doesn’t only possess a brute force attack but also a very high HP. At the start of our encounter we made a very organized formation where in the tank is at the front while the rest of the team are behind him. The problem with the formation was that the tank is too near with the rest of the team. When Atroce used Magnum Break the tank has been pushed towards the team and breaks the formation. Atroce began to change target and one by one he has taken us down. With a little struggle we still manage to take him down but we had a lot of casualties.

70th Floor
MVP: Orc Hero and Orc Lord
Monster: Orc Baby
Difficulty: Moderate to Difficult
Comment: This room has a dual MVP too and both are Orcs. Before we could even start walking up the room, MVP Orc Lord has rushed and attacked the team. Luckily his Earthquake is not that very troublesome if there are a lot of people around. We had him dead without any casualties on our side. Then at the upper part of the room was MVP Orc Hero. He is not a bothersome MVP so we had him killed in a few seconds.

75th Floor
MVP: Dark Lord and Baphomet
Monster: Dark Illusion and Baphomet Jr
Difficulty: Difficult
Comment: This room is the most challenging dual MVP room. Both MVP Dark Lord and MVP Baphomet were fearsome MVPs in which they could easily wipe an unprepared team. The planned strategy for this room as always is to face the MVPs separately. We were unlucky enough to lure them both at the same time so we don’t have any choice but to face them. Our team concentrated on Baphomet first while I lured Dark Lord away from the team. They managed to take him down but there are a lot of casualties on the process. Then I lured Dark Lord back to the team so that we could take him down together.

80th Floor
MVP: Fallen Bishop Hibram
Monster: Necromancer
Difficulty: Challenging
Comment: The room of MVP Fallen Bishop Hibram has always the most challenging part of our trip. He’s the most annoying MVP that we ever met because of his slow cast, quagmire, hell judgement and his Banshee mobs. Add to that is his strong area spell namely Grand Cross and Dark Grandcross that severely damages our team. We do have a plan and formation for him but it failed. Our formation was destroyed by the time our tank died or has lost his steal body state and then Fallen Bishop is like a mad dog taking down each of our members. In the end, it’s like we got to do what we’re going to do. Once we died we immediately resurrect and throw some damage. Fallen Bishop will then target the damager until death then the cycle goes on until we finally killed him.

85th Floor
MVP: Ifrit
Monster: none
Difficulty: Extra Challenging
Comment: We had prepared an “overused” strategy for MVP Ifrit and I’m so amazed with the results. That’s all I can say. We managed to take Ifrit down in a few minutes.

90th Floor
MVP: Valkyrie Rangis
Monster:  Baroness of Retribution, Lady Solace and False Angel
Difficulty: Extra Challenging
Comment: I’m still amazed that the same “magic” works with MVP Valkyrie Rangis. We just spent a few minutes on her room.

95th Floor
MVP: Beelzebub
Monster:  Dragon Fly , Hunter Fly, Chonchon and Steel Chonchon
Difficulty: Extra Challenging
Comment: The “magic” also works with MVP Beelzebub but we had spent a little longer time here because of some unexpected area status of Beelzebub. The wide silence and wide sleep keep on bugging our “magicians” which slows us down. Just a little note, the Dragon Fly is actually the mob of Beelzebub and I didn’t have any clear shot with the real Beelzebub but I know he’s there. Our time ends here while performing the “magic” and we were forced to leave the Endless Tower.

The Analysis:
"We had a very great team during this run! Each of us has a specific role to take and most of the members had clearly shown their ability and cooperation. Even if we had first timers on the team we were able to impart to them the importance of their roles. I’m very happy that we had surpassed our previous attempt again. The only problem that we had is lack of time and obviously lack of preparation for Beelzebub. I guess on our next attempt we will be more time conscious and clear the lower floors faster than we had this time. Overall we had a successful attempt."

The Credits:
I would like to extend my gratitude to all the participating guilds on this event namely Bozanstvena Staratelje and Armor of God. Without the members of this guild, this adventure wouldn’t be successful.
