4th Job Class Impressions

Overview:

10 years after renewal and  the introduction of 3rd job class, kRO revealed that we can now advance to a higher job class which is 4th jobs. Together with the reveal comes with the teasers on job class with their new skills. The news gets all Ragnarok Online fans excited. Lets look forward on how will the new classes will shape the world of Ragnarok Online.

On this article, I will only provide my impression on the skills and possible roles of the classes since I don't have any access on kRO. I based my judgement on the info from the data mined articles from my source cited below. Bear in mind that the implemented skills might still undergo rebalancing so I will not go into the details on each of their skills.

Initial impression is that 4th job class builds will focus around the Powerful Skills that uses the new bar called AP. Based on the skill trees, characters can only choose 1 of the skills with AP which will dictate the path or role of the character. I'm not sure if there are job classes that can get at least 2 powerful skill on their built but for sure it will have a drawback. There are classes that has continuity on their themes from their 3rd jobs, some from their transcendent roles and there are also new mechanics.

Dragon Knight (Knight class)

• still offensive class using swords
• new tools for Dragon User and Offensive Builds
• Powerful Skill: Dragonic Aura
• Long range single target attack that buffs damage of specific skills and has additional damage to angel and demi human
• branches from Dragon and Spear builds
• Powerful Skill: Vigor
• Buff that increases damage but consumes HP and has additional damage to angel and demi human
• any build can aim this skill
• Skill Tree:

Arch Mage (Wizard class)

• still magic offensive class
• introduced undead and shadow property magic
• skill tree is deep on any build and it will be hard to plan out the optimize one
• Powerful Skill: Astral Strike
• High damage and Large AOE magic
• an upgraded damage skill for Comet build Warlocks
• Powerful Skill: Climax 
• Buff that provides upgrades to selected ArchMage skills
• skill upgrade for Tetra Vortex build

Shadow Cross (Assassin class)

• still offensive class
• new tools for Crit Build and Dual Dagger
• There is a skill that can be used while cloaking
• can now enchant weapon with Shadow property
• Powerful Skill: Shadow Exceed
• damage Buff to specific Skill
• forces to build on the skills enhanced by this buff
• Powerful Skill: Fatal Shadow Claw
• Physical Damage with bonus damage too demi human and dragon
• ultimate skill that take up most of your skill points on pre-requisite skills

Meister (Blacksmith class)

• a new mechanic introduced called Automatic Battle Robot which is creates machines maybe similar to Turrents for Mechanic job class
• new builds for Axe Builds

• Physical AoE damage with bonus damage to formless and insect
• ultimate skill for axe build similar to High Speed Cart Ram (2nd job transcendent)
• Powerful Skill: ABR - Infinity
• Summons a combat assist robot called Infinity
• ultimate skill for summon build

Cardinal (Priest Class)

• new tools for Battle type, Magic Type and Supports
• There is a new buff similar Blessing, Increase Agility and Gloria but this time on the new stats
• Powerful Skill: Effligo
• Physical damage buff
• skill specific for battle type
• Powerful Skill: Competentia
• Support Buff with recovery
• skill specific for full support builds
• Powerful Skill: Pneumaticus Procella
• Magic damage
• ultimate skill for magic users
• 4th job version of Magnus Exorcismus (2nd job) and Adoramus (3rd job)

Wind Hawk (Hunter Class)

• new tools for Trapper and Long Range builds
• has advance skill to track hidden characters
• Hawk and Warg can now be used simultaneously
• Powerful Skill: Calamity Gale
• Buff that increases damage to specific skills and additional damage to brute and fish
• skill that aids Bow builds
• Powerful Skill: Hawk Boomerang
• Physical damage with additional damage to brute and fish
• skill that aids Warg and Hawk builds

Imperial Guard (Crusader Class)

• revolves around Guard Stance and Attack Stance
• Guard Stance caters to defensive/support builds with more shield buffs 
• Attack Stance caters to more offensive builds
• new tools for Physical offense, Magic Offense and Support
• Powerful Skill: Grand Judgement
• Offensive Skill that also grant buffs to add more damage to specific offensive skills

Inquisitor (Monk Class)

• seems more combos but with targets marked by stigma created by the aura like powerful skill
• they also have buffs to increase damage and health
• the new mechanic is confusing

• Range damage around the caster
• seems like the 4th job version of Hell Gate (3rd job)
• Powerful Skill: Judge
• Aura effect where certain skills can be used as combo to those who are in the range
• new mechanic with 2 succeeding combo skills

• same aura effect like judge

Abyss Cross (Rouge class)

• new tools for Magic users, Physical Build, Auto skill builds and Bow users
• new strip skill but this time on Shadow Gears
• Powerful Skill: Abyss Slayer
• Buff that increases physical and magical power and hit
• any build can aim for the skill but mostly for offensive builds
• Powerful Skill: Omega Abyss Strike
• Magic Damage with additional damage to angel and demon
• provides more tools to shadow spell builds in which the gameplay revolves on magic spell procs when doing physical attacks

Troubadour/Trouvere (Bard and Dancer class)

• new tools for Bow user, Reverberation tree skills and supports
• has debuff skills to enemy when using instruments and whip
• has buff skills to party when using instruments and whip
• Powerful Skill: Mystic Symphony
• Buff that increases damage from specific skills and has additional damage to fish and demi human
• support buff for offensive builds
• Powerful Skill: Sonata of Kvasir
• Buff that lets user perform Ensemble skill alone
• ultimate skill for full support builds

Elemental Master (Sage class)

• new tools to auto cast build, Magic User and Support
• has the ability to burn AP
• has land enchants that deals damage and status ailment
• Spirit tree continuity and addition of Poison Elemental

• new coating skill for all equipment and shadow gears
• new mechanic on summoning plant creatures
• new mechanic that deals elemental physical long range damage that creates an acid zone when the target dies
• building biolo feels like building a Biochemist where you choose 2 out of the 3 available end skills
