Ragnarok Funny Story

A friend of mine shared this funny Ragnarok video at Facebook. I find the video funny, interesting and ragnarok related so I'm sharing this to you. Just to give you a preview, its about players who experience a epic fails in-game but presented in a very funny way. Some parts also depicts players who are bitter with other players and they strive to be the best. Honestly, I didn't understand a single text on the video because almost everything is written in Korean even the skills. But the bubble emotions and choice of actions of the characters clearly transcends to all Ragnarok players even with the language barrier. I'm not sure if the setting of the video is in kRO but I guess it is.

I was performing my usual Daily Quest routine when I notice a group of Monks with the same looks and gender moving in an unusual way. One monk walks ahead then the rest follows the same pattern of walking. There is no doubt that they are woots!

War of Emperium - January 26, 2011

As you may noticed on the past sieges, I'm using my Shadow Chaser for WoE because I'm busy doing Daily Quests on my main siege character. Holidays are over, I got my main siege character to 150 so its time to get serious with the War of Emperium again. I'm taking my Royal Guard to war!

Just heads up for those who are not aware. My Level Up will be undergoing a maintenance on January 31, 2011. It will be upgraded into a newer, better and faster myLU! according to them.

Overview:

Patch Notes: January 26, 2011

The patch notes have been release super late this time. There are no events implemented this week except for the second day of trading for the Green Bunny Band Event which means we will be doing our usual routines of grinding, questing, siege and tambay.

What I like in this patch is the response of the GMs to the issues bugging most of the players in the Free to Play servers namely Valkyrie and Valhalla. All memos of the acolyte classes on stuck area has been removed. Save points from training grounds has been transferred to Prontera. I didn't know that there is a save point in Novice Grounds. T_T

Also they are testing the bug fix for the log in issue which is currently the worst problem. I do hope that this will be successful because a huge number of accounts are affected by this log in issue.

Lucky Nidhoggur's Nest Farming

Nidhoggur's Nest has been a farming grounds to us. As you all know, Nidhoggur's Shadow drops the most preferred garment called Piece of Angent Skin [1] also known as Proxy [1]. The quest on unlocking the instance dungeon is long and painful that is why only a few adventurers have the patience on finishing the quest. But the rewards are worth it we only need patience. Good Day to all avid readers out there.

This is the first time that I will be updating about my plans for this site. I hope you enjoyed reading my personal adventures on Ragnarok online. I also hope that you get the information that you need especially the guides.

Currently i'm making this site as interesting and as informative as possible by creating a user friendly site lay out. If you have something to ask you could always throw your question on the Megaphone section. I'll try my best to answer them as long as I know the answer. Its time to give credits again to my all my readers. I've been promoting my site so hard and I'm thankful that you believed on the worth of my site. I hope you continue patronizing my site.

So far I don't receive any negative feedback from players in-game like claiming that my site is a hack site or scam site. I can't really blame them if they do that because a lot of scam sites are being promoted in-game. But I guess they already have proven that my site is legitimate and helpful.

Bossnia Event - 7th time

Bossnia has been released again and became a regular event in pRO. It has been offered on our servers from July 14, 2010 to July 21, 2010. Basically, Bossnia is a dungeon where MVPs spawn like regular monsters. There are 4 rooms available for hunting where in they contain the same MVPs and with the same map. Even if it sounds difficult there are still rooms for battles.

My guildmates will never skip these events so we organized a hunting party. We have formed a 6-man party to explore the Bossnia Dungeon. We balanced our team to have a tank, support and killers. We had 2 team composition choices but we ended up having 2 High Priests, 2 Biochemists, a Champion and a High Wizard. All in all we had 2 support, a tank and 3 damage dealers.

Bossnia Event - 6th time

The Bossnia Event has been offered again from May 12, 2010 to May 19, 2010 to all MVP hunters. The Bossnia Event had a great demand from the players that's why I'm not surprise that the Game Masters managed to release it again. Basically Bossnia is a dungeon full of MVPs ranging from Low End MVPs and High End MVPs. The MVPs inside the dungeon spawns just like a normal mob in which most Low End MVPs were a common while High End MVPs were rare. The scenario seemed frightening but in reality the dungeon is big enough to accommodate MVP battles. There were some changes applied for this time like Baphomet is removed but Nidhoggur has been added in his place with an 8hr spawn time, and Shield Reflect and Redemptio has been disabled on Bossnia maps.

Bossnia Event – The Comeback

So the Bossnia Event has made it’s comeback at Valkyrie Server last June 17, 2009 up to June 24, 2009.  I had made a journal about the first Bossnia event that could be found at Bossnia Event.

pRO recently added a unique event for all ragnarok players. A dungeon where all MVPs resides and spawns just like a normal monster. They call this dungeon Bossnia.

Valkyrie server has been given a chance to have an unlimited entry to the Bossnia Dungeon provided that you avail of the premium service. For those does not avail of the premium service, hypermart is selling a one time entry ticket. For the complete details you may refer to this link pRO site.

Just for curiosity on the event, I tried to enter the map and explore what's inside it. Suddenly I bump into a Biochemist who invited me to her party. Because I want to try enjoy the event I joined her party. There are 4 rooms to choose from where each room has varied difficulty of MVPs. We choose to enter the first map since it doesn’t have the super strong Biolabs MVPs.

Patch Notes: January 19, 2011

Once again the patch notes are early today. This is impressive. But there are no special events on going this patch aside from waiting for the trading day this weekends.

The War of Emperium schedule has been revert back to the original schedule where in weekday sieges are for WOE SE and weekends for WOE 1. I guess this will make sieges livelier.

For the hypermart updates, the Rune Midgard Coins has been made stack able in preparation for the Green Bunny Band trading day. New set of Zodiac Headgears has been made available at the premium hypermart.

LU Live 2010 Film Fest Winner

I forgot to post this last year. Last years LU Live 2010 Film Fest Winner is a Ragnarok Online entry. I've watch it personally during the event and I can say it's the best entry among the other entries. The scene revolves on the War of Emperium in which most ragnarok players then and now can relate to. There are various reactions from the audience when this video is played. I guess most of the audience can relate to the video. For you to have an idea on what I'm saying watch the video below. I recommend that you watch it in full screen to feel and to see the details. The clip is entitled Me and My Falcon.

Mini Event in Morroc

I was passing by Morroc Town when I noticed an unusual gathering of players . All of the players are too close with each other and trying to get closer to one another. I knew there is something going on that I didn't know at the moment so I just observed for a while.

Renewal Sealed Shrine Attempt

Sealed Baphomet Shrine has not been an attracting instance dungeon to us. The dungeon houses the Great Baphomet which drops the Cursed Baphomet Doll an essential ingredient in making Large Baphomet Horns. Even with the promise of rare item and low dungeon cool down, the drop rate of the Cursed Baphomet Doll is low and has a low market value now. But because we have failed on the Nidhoggur's Nest during that day we shifted our attention into this dungeon.

My First 150 Character

After 14 weeks of patience I was able to create my first level 150 character! I'm very proud that I have reached this level even for a very long period. Based from the history of my characters my Royal Guard is also my first level 99 non-transcendent character and my first level 99 transcendent character. I love this character especially in war of emperium. It suits my siege style.

War of Emperium - January 10, 2011

The War of Emperium has been reshaped in Valkyrie Server. I never expected the changes to be this drastic! Before the war of emperium started I was busy preparing my things for the war. I went on a corner and double check my equipments and consumables. Suddenly our guild master summoned us through Emergency Call. I thought our siege will be the same happy go lucky but I was wrong.

Wanna Be Free on Piano

I've been roaming around YouTube and found a lot of interesting Ragnarok BGMs being played on various musical Instrument. What caught my attention are the Piano versions of Wanna Be Free. As we all now Wanna Be Free is the BGM used for the War of Emperium maps. I'm a siege addict myself that's why I really love this music. It brings back a lot of siege memories. I'm sharing two piano versions in which one is played slow and the other is played at normal beat. The slower version has a sentimental feeling while the normal version has a triumphant feeling. Patch Notes: January 12, 2011

The patch notes is super early today. I guess GM Aeon is back on giving us the updates before they shuts down the servers for maintenance. I hope this will be sustained for the next patches. (^^)v

For the patch contents we have another Upgrading Challenge and this time is color Green! Yep we have the Green Bunny Band Event for this week. They even have a tag line for this event with the lines "Let's paint the town Green!". Basically the event asks you to upgrade Green Bunny Bands and exchange them for yummy rare gears or upgraded gears. If your interested to join read the mechanics carefully which can be found at the Unified Forums. If you like to read my previous Bunny Band Experience especially during trading day to have an overview on the happenings read them on this list.

Also we have the Happy Event NPC. I have no idea what it is but when the servers will be up we can see how this event works.

For the hypermart items, I'm surprised with the Zodiac Headgears reunion. I guess this is a treat for collectors who missed purchasing some of the gears. But sad to say it is only available at the premium hypermart.

Lastly we have an updated GameGuard. I don't know what to expect on this update if it blocks bots or dual clients or what. Lets also see if how it does in-game. But I can't do feedback on this because I'm not using any 3pp.

Izlude Monster Arena

One time our guild got pumped up for another Ragnarok Challenge but doesn't want to do the usually boss hunting and instances. I suddenly thought of the old time craze called the Izlude Monster Arena. It's been a while since I visited this place so we gathered our members and sent out for another adventure.

I've been reading the Unified Forums and someone post about the first Ragnarok Online Opening Movie. It caught my attention because I'm familiar with the shared video. It's about a Novice and the first jobs battling Atroce. The video if I'm not mistaken was released during the beta days of Ragnarok Online as a promotional video. Atroce during this time is not yet existing in-game. Atroce has been released during the Rachel Patch. Watch the full video after the break. It brings back a lot of memories.

Player Feedback

I'll be highlighting some player feedback again. I got lots this time because I have more time to AFK at Alberta Hagdan now. Vacation is over and I have to get back to my usual routines. Thank you all for the support you are giving to my site. I appreciate them. I don't mind answering your queries as long as I know the answer I'll tell them to you. Just don't ask too personal questions because I won't be revealing them to you. I'm afraid of having posers in the future. I hope you understand. Nidhoggur Renewal Farming

Nidhoggur's Nest is one of our favorite farming dungeon in-game because of the possible Piece of Agent Skin [1] that will be dropped. However renewal hits our main servers so our concentration shifted on the new contents of the game. The fact that Nidhoggur's Shadow level has been raised to 117 and mobs has been boosted too it would be hard for us to survive the dungeon.

War of Emperium – January 5, 2011

I have been active again with siege because I found a way to enjoy my War of Emperium experience using my Shadow Chaser. I was able to survive longer now because of techniques that I discovered through the experience that I had. From my personal view a character can be competitive in WOE again once he reached 130 and above. Fire Armors is a must in WOE now if you don't want to be raped with successive Dragon Breath from a group of Rune Knights.

Overview:
With the dawn of alternate second jobs, the concept of damaged items are introduced in Ragnarok Online. Damaged items are items with a color Red text on its name when you browse the item description. Damaged items cannot be equipped but can be stored in the cart and Kafra. They can only be equipped once you have repaired them.

Patch Notes: January 5, 2011

The patchnotes are up very late today. This is the first patchnotes for the year and sad to say there is nothing special. So much for the long wait.

We only have bug fixing and some hypermart discounts. The benefits of holidays is over. No more massive item mall sale. No more experience modification. And back to the normal life. On the brighter side we can now have our rest and continue our own adventures.

Special Item Mall

Overview:

The Special Item Mall is a Hypermart for promo items. The items being sold on this Hypermart can only be purchased for a limited number or for a limited time. Once the limit is reached everyone on room will be teleported back to their spawn point and the guide responsible for bringing players into the room will disappear also.

How to get there:

Go to Prontera near the building for dying hair and just above the Prontera Hypermart. An NPC named Special Item Mall guide is waiting for players who wants to be transported to the Special Item Mall. Talk to him and immediately he'll bring you to the Special Item Mall room.

When you arrive at the room, locate the Special Item Mall. He will be selling the rare and controlled promo item. He is located near your spawn area. You won't miss it because there are only 2 NPCs in the room. Also trying zooming in if there is a large crowd around the NPC.

Once you have finished with your shopping at the room, you can approach the Exit Guide and leave. There are no limit on the number of times you access the Special Item Mall. As long as the number limit or time limit is not yet reached you can stay at the room and purchase the items being sold.

Change Hairstyle - Hypermart Version

Overview:

Styling is one of the features of Ragnarok Online. During the character creation, there are several hairstyles and color to choose from to customize your look. In-game there are also a quest that would allow you to change your hairstyle with the same set being offered during the character creation. Now they have expanded the hairstyle options by offering a newer set of hairstyles.
