Playing with ROR and ROFL

When boredom strikes, I tested how effective the ROR and ROFL combo on my Auto shadow spell build Shadow Chaser. I equipped him with the usual gears but without other auto cast gears except those two accessories. Seems a fine plan to me so I went out of the city and traveled into some dungeons.

Overview:
The craze for experience has heightened every time our servers receives a modified experience. All of us grind to death just to level up our characters since the modified experience only lasts for a limited time. This is also the time where our server had an enormous increase in population. In order to maximize the experience gain I will be providing you with lists of things that will complement your leveling needs. The list is not only applicable during modified experience but even during the normal days.

Overview:
Moon Cake Festival is a festival celebrated on the 15th day of the eight-month in the Chinese calendar, which is around September or October in the Gregorian calendar. It is said that during this season, the moon is supposedly at its fullest and roundest. Philippine Ragnarok Online is proud to release its version of the Mooncake Festival Event across its servers starting October 16, 2009. The event will let you feel the beauty and glory of the fully round moon while enjoying the delicacies made from rice cakes.

pRO's F2P servers has a setting which disables the use of any Teleport abilities. Items like Butterfly Wing and Flywing has their teleport disabled but are still existing in-game for quest item purposes. Teleport skills from the acolyte class has also been removed from the skill tree. Consequently, Creamy Card drop from Old Card Album and monster has been removed. Because of this harsh setting a lot of stuck areas has emerged. However there are few equipment items that grants a skill which will save you.

Patch Notes: February 23, 2011

Modified Experience is over! So we're back to our usual routines of leveling up, hunting, questing, sieges and others. Expect lesser lag on our dear Valkyrie server. Our server will now be playable again.

The game updates that we have this week is more on bug fixes. Nothing much to discuss. So basically we don't have any activity for this week. The supposedly start of Agit Lords this week has been moved on March 2, 2011 so we'll have to prepare for that.

Hypermart is still on-sale. Mouse Scroll replaced the current scroll at the hypermart.

The last week for the series of Odin's Merchant sieges has finally come. All competitive guilds are now gear up to conquer one of the target Agits for the week. This weeks chosen Agits are Nuemberg located at center of Luina, Bergel located at center of Britoniah, Lazeagues located at center of Valkyrie Realm and Bool-Young located at upper right of Greenwood Lake. Since this is the last of the series it means this is also the last chance for guilds to purchase the rare gear prizes worth 2 billion zeny each. These prizes are +11 Piece of Angent Skin [1] for Britoniah, +11 Hunting Spear for Valkyrie Realm, +11 Ice Pick for Luina and Symbol of Solar God for Greenwood Lake.

The Gathering of Players at the Prontera Fountain is the culminating event for the No Fear Promo. At a certain date and time all adventurers of our server are invited at the center part of Prontera. The task is to gather at least 200 players wearing the No Fear Headband in order for our server to win the most awaited Experience Mod for December. All players joining the event are strictly not allowed to create pubs, vend and wear headgears other than the No Fear headband. Players violating this rule will not be included in the counting.

Philippine Ragnarok Online has once again accepted advertisements from commercial products after so many years. This time the No Fear Products made it’s campaign to all adventurers across all servers of pRO. Among the different No Fear Events includes dropping of No Fear shoes on selected monsters, choosing players with best No Fear statements on different occasions, having a free in-game item when buying No Fear Apparels at any stores nationwide and a limited time No Fear Daily Quest. Patch Notes: February 16, 2011

The patchnotes are up and posted late this morning. Good News! We have a MODIFIED EXPERIENCE for everyone. Its our first Mod Exp for this year so that means F2P servers will have x3 experience while P2P servers will have x2 experience. Its time for another addict mode week for every who are rushing their levels. This might also mean that Endless Tower might have an earlier down time for our server. lol

There are updates for the Daily Quests too. On the patchnotes it says deactivated Army Supply Quest - Izlude Arena. So I'm not sure if Izlude Arena is deactivated or the Army Supply Quest in Morroc is deactivated or both. But my guess would be Izlude Arena alone is deactivated due to bot farming of Yggdrasil Berries. Then the other one is an update with the headgear reward from Swab the Deck although the patchnotes says Cargo Event. The new headgear is called Blood Admiral's Hat. The sprite resembles that of Corsair (Drake's Headgear). Its attribute is the same as the Siege Headgears with 10% reduction from demi-human.

Just a little refresh, we still have the Odin's Merchant siege event this week. This will be the last week for the siege series. The target Agits for this week are Bergel of Britoniah, Lazeagues of Valkyrie Realm, Bool-Young of Greenwood Lake and Nuemberg of Luina. All target Agits are center Agits except for Greenwood Lake. Plan your tactics now. This will be your last chance to purchase the goody items worth 2 billion zeny.

Happy Valentines Everyone!

As a treat for everyone this Love month, I have thought of creating an interesting post instead of my usual greeting cards style. It's really hard to conceptualize what post will I make which be both interesting for Ragnarok Online players while sustaining the Valentines mood.

Have you watched the movie "My Amnesia Girl"? Well, I was inspired by this movie to create my own version of pick up lines Ragnarok style. Most players can relate to this lines but I just hope it'll not be too corny for everyone. If it did sound too corny don't bash me. lol!

I didn't create these pick up lines alone. I also ask for help in-game because as they say more heads are better than one. At this point I would like to thank , MaiMaiSupport, badassmoody,and SuPaH papaLICOUS. I don't know you personally but thank your contributions and still gave these lines even though I didn't respond in-game. I would also like to thank my friends blur, Aerin, and Yakimix for helping me out too. Bulk of my thanks goes to my brother Rich Kid Harry who gave me a large portion of what I'm going to post today.

The target Agits has been changed to Jyolbriger located at the upper right of Britoniah, Swanhild located at the lower right of Valkyrie Realm, Chun-Dan located at the lower right of Greenwood Lake and Hohenschwangau at the upper left of Luina. Guild masters owning the chosen Agits will have the privilege to buy a pre-determined item worth 2 billion zeny. The prizes are +11 Piece of Angent Skin [1] for Britoniah, +11 Hunting Spear [1] for Valkyrie Realm, +11 Ice Pick for Luina and Symbol of Solar God for Greenwood Lake.

pRO Valkyrie’s Tribute to Pres Cory Aquino

Our country had been mourning for the loss of Madam Pres. Cory Aquino. She is the reason for the rebirth of Democracy in our Country. In pRO we also have our own way of giving tribute to our great leader with our own small way.

At around 5pm in the afternoon, GM Chastity called everyone for an event. The event is simply to distribute Yellow Bandana to each player who will be joining the event as a tribute for our dear Pres Cory Aquino. I didn’t bother to attending the said event since I have a yellow bandana already inserted on my account. The event venue is very confusing. At first the giving of bandanas will be at Prontera then changed to Hugel then changed back to Prontera again. When the distribution of Yellow bandana has ended, GM Chastity asked all the players of Valkyrie to wear the Yellow Bandana and form a letter L. This is the sign used by the Filipino people during the Edsa Revolution as a protest to the dictatorship.

As expected, the event was very chaotic. With the diverse community that we have in Valkyrie, we are not expecting a 100% cooperation form everyone. Just below the Prontera fountain, everyone is flocking GM Chastity. So forming a human letter L is really impossible to achieve. Some players began to form another letter L at the top portion of the Prontera fountain. I joined that group since it’s more organized. After some efforts of giving instructions to everyone, we have finally achieved a clear letter L. As proud Filipinos we waved the Philippine Flag while taking our own screenshots. As a prize our server will have a modified experience on Aug 19, 2009.

That’s not the end of paying tribute to our dear president. Since our government had declared that day a holiday, I was able to join my guild for WoE (War of Emperium). As early as 7pm I already asked my guild mates to add me in the guild. I was surprised that our guild master has changed our emblem to a yellow ribbon. I guess he is also paying tribute for President Cory.

During the whole WoE, we are proud in wearing the yellow ribbon emblem. Some of the members are also wearing Yellow Bandanas sacrificing their precious WoE headgears. Even our party name is a tribute to our president.

Log In Event: Kung Hei Fat Choi

On a Thursday night (February 3, 2011), I'm surprised that I can't log into the server. I tried logging in many times but it seems that the server is down. I checked the Unified Forums and pRO Official facebook account and found out that they have brought back the Log In event. This time around the log in Event is for the celebration of Chinese New Year. Players are encouraged to log in and play for at least 3 hours from 4:30pm to 11:59pm in order to receive the special give away items. Official mechanics of the event can be viewed at the Unified Forums.

Patch Notes: February 9, 2011

Patch notes are up early today. And there are game updates unlike last week. Most of which are bug fixes and removal of event patches. The most noticeable one is the bug fix for pile bunkers not to be wield by Genetics. I guess this would be the start of renewal bug fixes. I do hope that mATK from staffs and wielding of one-hand swords will be next.

Ati-atihan Festival patch is now implemented on the main servers. From what I have read it has a headgear quest specifically for Ati-atihan Festival.

The Odin's Merchant Siege Event is still ongoing. The bloody siege will still continue every Saturdays of the week. Join the War of Emperium and reward you guild with +11 Piece of Angent Skin [1], +11 Hunting Spear [1], +11 Ice Pick [1] and Symbol of Solar God by conquering the target Agits. This weeks target Agits are Jyolbriger (Britoniah), Swanhild (Valkyrie), Chiun-Dan (Greenwood), Hohenschwangau (Luina). Maybe you should refer to my WoE1 Guild Dungeon Switches post for the exact locations of the castles. Good Luck!

One of the patches says that update on Alberta Cargo Headgear Reward in Sakray. Maybe it's referring to the Daily Quest Swab the Deck where in it has a Headgear reward. I guess they will be adding another headgear on the list. I highly doubt if this update refers to the Cargo Delivery Quest since it doesn't have any headgear reward.

Lastly the never ending Hypermart sale. Hmm almost everything is on sale. The premium Hypermart has updated list of items for sale again. Now they are pro active in changing the contents of that store every week. And Neuralizer for skill reset is still on sale.

For the whole month of February, a Siege Event for WoE 1 called the Odin's Merchant is being implemented where in eligible guilds must conquer a specified Agit in order to participate in the event. One Agit per location (a total of four) is designated as target Agit and it varies per siege. Conquering one of these Agits will entitle the guild master to buy an item worth 2 billion zeny. Items will be as follows: Britoniah provides +11 Piece of Angent Skin [1], Valkyrie Realm provides +11 Hunting Spear [1], Luina provides +11 Ice Pick [1] and Greenwood Lake provides Symbol of Solar God. News: Midgard Congress 2011

The Philippine Ragnarok Online is organizing another gathering for all guildmasters in all servers. The aim of this gathering is to discuss the Ragnarok online 2011 plans and the upcoming tournament for RWC 2011.

The discussion from what I've heard before is that they will be deciding on what kind of Agit Lords will be implemented for the year. So basically they will be deciding on Agit Lord mechanics. Future updates and patches for pRO will also be revealed here but if I'm not mistaken the exact date of implementation will not be revealed. At the end of the meeting there will be a Q&A portion. I just hope the guild masters who will be attending the congress will be pro active enough to ask questions regarding the current problems of our servers. I hope the empty bottle problem for F2P servers will be included. lol!

Alright, I'm featuring another round of feedback that I got in-game. This is my simplest way of thanking you all for the support on this site. Of course my thanks is not limited to those who are in pRO Valkyrie but for other Ragnarok Online players as well who regularly visits my site. I'm glad to help you in your adventures in Rune Midgard. I'm also happy to be at the top Google searches whenever you search something related to Ragnarok Online. It helped me a lot in promoting my dear site.

During the early parts of the siege, we only have a few members who participated in the siege. Currently we own an Agit but our guild master decided not to defend it so instead we attacked another Agit. Honestly, It's boring to defend without an equally strong guild trying to conquer your castle.

Warlock Job Change Experience

Overview:
Warlocks are the 3rd jobs for Wizards and High Wizards. Their role as magic wielders remains the same. However they now have larger scale and stronger magic like Crimson Rock, Jack Frost, Earth Strain and Chain Lightning. Before they only have the elements of fire, water, wind, earth and ghost to utilize now they have been blessed with dark and neutral magic. They can now release their stored magic instantly with the aid of Release, Freezing Spellbook and Reading Spellbook. Lastly they have their Ultimate magic on their arsenal called Comet and Tetra Vortex.

Eye of Hellion Adventure Quests

Eye of Hellion Quest is an experience quest that has been added at Ragnarok online since Episode 10.2 Lighthalzen. I had never done this quest before until my friend ask me to help her out on the quest. She told me that she wanted to take the path where in we will be fighting the Hellion Revenant. She already tried herself but she failed to claim the Eye of Hellion from the Hellion Revenant. Since I have no significant activity during that time and I’m feeling confident I have agreed to help her out. I haven’t read this quest and the only thing I knew about this quest is that this is the only place that you can get Nile Rose [1].

Patch Notes: February 2, 2011

The patch notes are late again. And there are no game updates for this patch. What? seriously? yes you read it right no game updates for this patch. We can just do our usual leveling up, exploration, chatting, idling, daily questing and other regular routines.

On the hypermart side, last weeks sale is continued this week. Neuralizer for skill reset is still at 50% discount so grab the opportunity to buy one if you really need a skill reset.

Genetic's Change Material Skill

Overview:

Alchemist class has been the job class for research and experimentation in the world of Ragnarok Online. With the arrival of their third job class Genetic, they have been gifted further on creating new materials from other materials. But the right formulas are not given so they have to be discovered.
