Anubis Map Culture

Overview:
The map where Anubis spawns is thriving with leechers and grinders. Currently, it is the monster with the highest experience gain that is farm-able. It also has properties that can be exploited with which it can be killed easily.

Location:
Anubis only spawns on Sphinx dungeon specifically Sphinx 4 and Sphinx 5. The highest spawn of the monster is in Sphinx 4 where most leechers are while Sphinx 5 are for the grinders because it has other high experience monster like Pasana.

Preparation:
The basic item to have on this map if you plan to explore is to have a Bathory carded armor. The card will make your element Dark which makes Anubis' Souls Strike of Darkness miss. You also need anti-demi human gears like Thara Frog carded shield, Poo poo hat and the likes though this is not required if you are kiting. Lastly you need Fly Wing for emergency escapes.

The Culture:
Anubis is a demi-human monster with an undead property that can easily be exploited due to the availability of demi-human gears and holy property skills. This is the reason why the map is mostly dominated by Priest, Monk and Crusaders. There are other jobs that tries to compete but they can't keep up.

Life on the map is always scouting for Anubis Spawns. Teleport skill and Fly Wing is essential on looking for the spawns randomly. This is where the acolyte class shines since Teleport is part of their skill tree. Other monsters on the map like Minorous, Pasana and Mimic are mostly being ignored but sometimes being killed by Agi build characters.

Every Anubis spawn is a battle of who can kill the monster first. Most Priest on the map has Turn Undead build to try and one shot them. There are also Full Support Priests which uses Resurrection which is essentially has the same chances of Turn Undead level 4. Monk on the other hand uses their ultimate skill Guillotine Fist to also one shot the monster. The only problem on their leveling technique is the reload time but that's OK because the experience given is really worth it. Lastly, Agi build Crusaders spams Holy Cross to take down Anubis in around 5 secs or less.

Once an Anubis is taken down adventurers teleport again to look for another Anubis spawn. There are unfortunate times when you are be killed due to various reasons. That is not a problem on this map because most of the Priests provides free Resurrection to fallen comrades even if they are your rival on an Anubis spawn. Sometimes waving a flag or using the Help emotion can get people's attention to Resurrect you. All of the Priests here are paying forward for the free Resurrection which I find it amazing.

Also there are times when a player flood the leech area with dead branch to kill the leechers. The map activity momentarily stops to clear the summoned monsters and resurrect dead players. Then life goes on again. Though the situation happens rarely because all players on the map are dedicated to leveling until someone breaks the ice for a while.

Conclusion:
I consider the Anubis map as the Classic-Revo version of Glast Heim back in the early Ragnarok episodes. It has it's own culture of leeching and grinding which other maps does not have. I also like the free resurrection to fallen comrades because it shows that somewhat we are help each other to level up. From my own experience, I was always being resurrected every time I die so I'm also doing the same.

the boosted magic skills of monsters really changed the gameplay
though the presence of flywing/teleport really helps

the early presence of anubis (which supposed to be for the nameless island patch) killed GC crusader and ME priest builds
the "revo-classic dark soul strike" of some monsters increased the demand of the bathory card

when I was in valkyrie, the skills of anubis are nearly negligible
what you need is an ailment inflicting armor (garm, pest, etc) to escape the mobs and the speedy mimic

anyways I appreciate you from running this blog
