Octopus Cave - 1st Attempt

Overview:
Octopus Cave is one of the two featured dungeons in Malangdo Island. The Octopus Cave is the home of Disgusting Octopus where a Starfish is guarding its entrance. The starfish somehow have a grudge on the MVP inside the dungeon.

The Cast:
We formed a two man party for this dungeon because Rian and I are the only adventurers available during that time. We have an MVP killer and a support character which I consider a basic setup for MVP killing. The mob control role will be designated to the MVP killer too while the tanker might be carried out by the support or MVP killer depending on the difficulty of the MVP

Requirements:
Octopus Stick - can be purchased at Malangdo Island via Silverine Fruit

The Adventure:
Rian and I purchased a Silverine Box at the Hypermart where we will be getting the Silverine Fruit. The silverine fruit will be used to purchase the Octopus Stick which serves as a requirement in entering the dungeon. This means that the dungeon is only accessible for ROK users.

The Octopus stick that has been purchased will be in box form so you need to open it to get the item. Proceed on the upper left most paw of Malangdo Island to reach the dungeon.

Inside the dungeon look for the starfish at the upper mid part of the dungeon. It might be tricky to find the Starfish but if you hover on its location you will see an emotion for an NPC. He is constantly moving so he will surely get your attention.

Talk to the starfish and apparently he has a grudge on the Disgusting Octopus. He also tells you to use the stick to poke the octopus. Ask him to open the gate and he'll be creating an instance for your party. Once the instance is created click on the cave opening to enter the dungeon.

At the start of the instance you will be warped to a map with 5 portals. The portals at the lower mid is the exit while the rest of the portals will be your task.

Enter one of the portals and go through the path. At the end of the map there is an Octopus Leg which you must defeat. There will be monsters along the way but it is an option whether you will kill them or not. Both the monsters on the way and the Octopus Leg are easy to defeat.

Do the same to the rest of the portals until all 4 Octopus Legs are defeated. All paths area easy to navigate and all monsters on these paths are easy to kill. There is no real threat for this task.

When the last Octopus Leg is defeated, your party will spawn at the center of the map again but this time there is a 6th portal that will open. The portal to the upper mid of the map leads to the lair of Disgusting Octopus.

Upon entering the portal the Disgusting Octopus will immediately greet your party. Kill the MVP and you are done with the dungeon. During our run I didn't tank the MVP and as far as I remember, it only took 2 ~ 3 Acid Bomb from Rian to take it down. I felt there is no real battle that happened.

Well the dungeon is very easy though the loots are not that interesting. Still congratulations to us!

Comments:
The dungeon is very easy for level 150 adventurers because most of the monsters are low level. It seems that the dungeon is designed for lowbie characters that wants a quick adventure. MVP hunters can surely perform the quest alone given the simple mechanics that it has. I can say that if you are frustrated with the Malangdo Culverts dungeon, you can always perform this instance to ease up that feeling.
