Endless Tower Renewal - 1st Attempt

Overview:
Endless Tower is the first instance dungeon that is implemented in Ragnarok Online. Since the time it was implemented my friends and I are up to the challenge on completing all floors and eventually will face the formidable Naght Seiger at the top.

Previous Adventures:
During pre-renewal we have successfully finished the Endless Tower by using Reflect Technique and Brute force in pushing our way to the top. When renewal comes, our team did not have any serious attempt to conquer all the floors. Most of our adventures on this dungeon are dedicated for power leveling. Most of our adventures are written on the Adventures Page under Endless Tower.

The Cast:
My friends and I had decided to try conquering the Endless Tower with Renewal setting. Each of the members have designated roles to perform and it is very crucial to stick to the tactics so that we won't be wasting so much supplies when we mess up.

  • Rich Kid Herbert as Genetic - MVP killer, mob killer and Full Coat support
  • Raiden Ishigawa as Sorcerrer - mob killer and Dispell and Stricking support
  • Scarlet as Archbishop - Full support
  • Invincible Nairian as Rune Knight - MVP killer, tanker and mob control
  • Pak-Man as Sura - tanker
  • Aerin as Sura - tanker
  • Cai Wen Ji as Genetic - MVP killer, mob killer and Full Coat Support
  • sankaku as Rune Knight - MVP killer, tanker and mob control
  • For Your Entertainment as Minstrel - Full Support
  • Nhiel as Genetic - MVP killer, mob killer and Full Coat Support

The Adventure:
I consider this attempt as our official attempt to finish the Endless Tower because all our party members brought characters that are essential in our survival on the dungeon. We have consired all possible MVP battle scenarios and so far we are all prepared until the top floor. Since we are serious in finishing the tower we are adopting the brute force strategy that's why we are having 3 genetics and 2 Rune Knights in our line up.

Easy floors:
The easy floors does not have any strategy at all because all we have to do is to use area skills to wipe the monsters on the floor. For MVP rooms, our prepared genetics was able to easily clear the dungeon and we have Rune Knights to battle with ghost type MVPs. Clearing these floors are easy considering the level difference that we have againsts the monsters.

Fallen Bishop Hibram:
This room is the start of our strategies. The set up we have for Fallen Bishop Hibram is similar with our pre-renewal strategy. As the MVP focus on attacking our tanker, the sorcerer will lay down the Land Protect to neutralize the ground spells like Pnuema, Safety Wall, Grand Cross and Dark Grand Cross. With almost eliminating the protective and some offensive skills, our team will now be concentrating on remotely casting Acid Bomb and Dragon Breath on Hibram. However, planned strategy doesn't always work as we wanted. When our tanker died our set up messed up so we have to regroup again. In the end, we just let the tanker do his job and everyone else is seeking protection inside the pnuema while remotely attacking.

Ifrit:
This room is a blessing. Most of our strategy on this room has it's Bossnia roots. We all have our Fire Armor equipped and a counter Land Protect casted for the overpowered Meteor Storm that occassionally drops on us. We have same strategy here, We let our tank do his job while the attackers will be throwing spells from afar. The strategy falls apart too when the tanker dies but it is very easy for us to regroup since we are all familiar with the behavior of the MVP.

Valkyrie Rangis:
The room is a challenging one. The strategy is similar with Ifrit however we are always considering the occassional Dispell being thrown by Rangis. Our initial strategy for tanking is to have one of our members lure Rangis so that the initial Dispell will be casted on him then our Sura tanker will take over from there. The Lord of Vermillion of Rangis is painful so we have a Land Protect set up too. Then we remotely casted our spells to take out Rangis.

Beelzebub:
This is one of the most difficult MVPs to deal with. Beelzebub's ghost property automatically cripples our Genetic's Acid Bomb. But we are prepared for this situation that's why we brought Rune Knights to do the MVP killing job for ghost property MVPs. We have the same set up as Valkyrie Rangis and Ifrit however we are having a difficult time dealing with Beelzebub's area status such as Area Stone and Area Sleep. It is unfortunate too that one of Rune Knights has his dragon taken off so that would be a less MVP killer on our side! It was a very challenging scenario but fortunately we pull it off after a series of regroupings.

Entweihen Crothen:
This is the room where we could feel that we are on the top floor. Personally, some of our adventures flashes back as I step on this room. All the struggles we have with those annoying Thorns of Darkness in order to take a clear shot at Entweihen Crothen. Our first timers were very eager to have a face off with the MVP. Our strategy is patterned on our pre-renewal technique which is stick together under one pnuema and clear some Thorns that were blocking our way. If there is a clear shot at Entweihen Crothen then go for it and throw those Acid Bombs and Dragon Breath. At first it was a difficult task to choose which way to maneuver but we decided to go upwards. After killing 1 Thorn of Darkness we were able to reach Entweihen Crothen with ease.

Naght Seiger:
The final boss is here! Honestly we don't have any clear strategy with him aside from casting Dragon Breath on him til death. So we decided to do the generic strategy which is to have the tanker do his job while our Rune Knights will remotely attack him. All of us are wearing unfrozen because we are aware that the MVP constantly casts Storm Gust and Frost Joke. To our surprise taking Naght Seiger down is easier compared to Entweihen Crothen.

Congratulations to us we were able to clear Endless Tower in Renewal! It was a very good adventure and challenge to us. Our first timers are contented on how the adventure went through. We are hoping to have more adventures on other dungeons.

Analysis:
The hard part of the instance dungeon starts on the level of Fallen Bishop Hibram. Renewal had overhauled the difficulty of this instance dungeon where in normal monsters were easily killed through the burst damage from 3rd job characters. Low end MVPs were pretty much easy to kill but high end MVPs like Valkyrie Rangis is still hard to kill. MVP Entweihen Crother is still formidable but easily fallen to the combination of Dragon Breath and Acid Bomb. MVP Naght Sieger on the other hand remains a hard MVP to kill because of his Ghost Property. Our only hope for the kill is to use Dragon Breath.

I would like to thank my Patay Gutom Gang friends for sharing this epic adventure of conquering all the Endless Tower floors.
