Bangungot Hospital - 2nd Attempt

Overview:
Bangungot Hospital is one of the three instance dungeons released on Port Malaya. The dungeon will challenge your team to be well coordinated in taking down Bangungot. Bangungot drops ingredients which can be used to create a Bangungot Tattoo. The dungeon has 7 days cool down inorder to re-enter.

Requirements:
Finish the not so long prerequisite quests for Port Malaya. The quest guides can be viewed at iROwiki site under Port Malaya section.
Cautious Village
Nurse in Port Malaya

Previous Attempt:
My friends and I were excited to try the different instance dungeons of Port Malaya. The Bangungot Hospital proves that it has something unique to offer for adventurers. For my journal on our first attempt please visit the post below. It contains our getting to know phase of the dungeon.
Bangungot Hospital - 1st Attempt

The Cast:
Our party composition is way better than the previous attempt because we now have most of the roles covered. Two of our members are familiar with the mechanics of the dungeon and we recruit another two members who are new to the dungeon.

Psyche a Sura - MVP killer and support
Cai Wen Ji a Genetic - MVP killer and mob control
Herbie Boy a Sorcerer - mob control and support
Ethereal Rianair a Rune Knight - mob control and tank

The Adventure:
We are more prepared to enter the dungeon this time. We take into consideration that we have the proper party setup. Our gears and consumables is somehow similar with what we usuallly bring during Endless Tower runs. We started our adventure by creating the instance with the Nurse at the first floor of the dungeon.

The dungeon mechanics is different from the previously released instance dungeons. This instance dungeon uses phases where in if you fail at a certain phase you will go back to a previous phase. It's like you will be performing a task and if you fail you will end up in loop. In order to get off the loop the team must finish a task or else they will be caught up in the loop and perform the task over and over and over again. It sounds confusing though but once you enter the dungeon you'll understand the mechanics.

Phase 1: Kill Monsters Tormenting Patients
When our team entered the instance dungeon, we immediately perform the task for this phase. Basically we just killed all the Bangungot's Mangkukulam that spawns randomly on the first room. At this point you must be patient in waiting for the spawns to come out.

Phase 2: Eliminate Bangungot
When we cleared the first room we proceed to the second room where MVP Bangungot spawns. He will be lurking around the small room and it's not hard to find him. Rian our tank immediately got close to the MVP while I lay my Land Protect as our main ground protection. Cai and Psyche on the otherhand went on rage at the MVP sending Acid Bomb and Extremity Fist respectively.

Bangungot is formidable MVP because he has skills to counter a good party set up. He has Lord of Vermillion which is the most annoying spell at its disposal. He constantly use the spell which flinch us to death and the damage really hurts a lot. He can instantly cripple a tank by casting Dispell and remove support ground spells by using Ganbantein. He also have Critical Wounds which slows down the potting ability of the tank.

*Loop:
At this point the loop happens when the team failed to eliminate Bangungot within the time frame of 2 to 3 minutes. When the loop kicks in, all members will spawn near the portal of the second room. Dead Players when the loop kicks in will be resurrected and spawn on the same spot with the rest of the team but with low health.

Bangungot will be INVULNERABLE at this point and trying to heal himself back. Do not attack Bangungot because it's useless. The team is looped back to Phase 1 mechanics so the team must clear the first room. After the first room is cleared Phase 2 mechanics immediately follows. Each time the team goes back into Phase 2 mechanics as part of the loop there will be an increasing number of Bangungot's Mananangal inside the second room. This will make the MVP killing more challenging.

And that summarizes our failure on the first attempt! We got owned not only by Bangungot but with the increasing number of Bangungot's Mananangal mobs inside the second room.

Phase 3: The Pillar of Spirit
Fortunately because of our powerful MVP killers we reached phase 3 fast without being caught up in the loop. Bangungot turned into an Elder Willow named "Pillar of Spirit". The team needs to kill the spirit within 1 minute but there is a catch. The spirit has 250 HP and only takes 1 damage per hit which is similar to the Emperium.

But because of our intel we didn't bother to have an attackspeed freak member to succeed on this phase. We used Blood Suck from Cai which one hit kill the monster. It was a sweet victory.

Some players claimed that Hell Plant and Cart Tornado also works. I'm guessing all skills that uses pure damage mechanics works well on this phase like Pressure, Gravitational Field and Hell Gate.

*Loop:
At this point another loop will happen. When the team failed to kill the spirit within the alloted period, Bangungot will be resurrected and the team will be looped back to Phase 2.

You'll know when your team is stuck when you'll performing an endless cycle of the different phases. The dungeon is only giving adventurers 1 hour to finish the instance.

Comments:
The instance dungeon is easy when the team has the right composition. Getting to know the mechanics of the dungeon is somewhat confusing at the beginning but eventually you'll get used to it. The secret on surviving this dungeon is to finish it as soon as possible. The run would be pretty much straight forward. Failing to do so might end up getting caught in an endless loop.

Off Topic Question:
Can you summon monsters in that part of the Dungeon? Because in floor 1 I can, not so sure for floor 2. I would like to test something out, so to speak.

I can't test it right away due to the annoying 7 day cool-down from my failed attempt and with the Lost Spirit of Warrior NPCs gone.

Thanks for this blog and more power to your website /no1

@Anonymous
Wah inayos na nila? Hindi ko alam eh. ang gamit namin na pang kill ngayon e naka berserk guitar na Minstrel.

@Zotaru
I don't have any idea. What I know is once you run out of time in the instance dungeon you will be flashed out and the created instance will be deleted If you create another instance after the cooldown that will be a fresh map again. I'm not sure what you want to do though.

I see, thanks anyway.

It's just funny that I tried it again but with a Team this time and still forgot to use the Dead Branches I brought for testing >_<

I want to know if the Reflect Damage reflected hits work with the Pillar of Spirit as it does with plants & mushrooms. But would be useless if I can't summon in the first place, thanks again /no1
