Homunculus via Bioethics Device

Overview:
Homunculus is one of the core skills of Alchemist where they summon a creature to aid them in battle. There are four available homunculus to summon but you can only choose one to be your loyal ally. Each of them gear towards certain builds so choose wisely.

ROMSP has renovated the feature to tie up all the Homunculus tree to a right only accessory called Bioethics device. Players will no longer need to quest the Bioethics skill and allocate skill points for it. The Bioethics device has them all.

How to Get Bioethics Device:
Locate Sexy Scientist at Eden top room. She has a pub called Homunculus Event.

Purchase the Bioethics Device worth 1,000,000z with a free 1 embryo. Equip the device and you will automatically get all the Homunculus related skills. Be warned though that once you unequip the accessory, you cannot use any Homunculus related activities including brewing the embryo.

Brewing Embryo:
Brewing Embryo still requires the same items that can be purchased on Alchemist Guild at Al de Baran. It needs 1 Glass Tube, 1 Morning Dew of Yggdrassil, 1 Seed of Life and 1 Medicine Bowl. Potion Creation Guide should also be in the inventory which lists Embryo as the last item to brew. The renovation change is that you will need the Bioethics Device equipped in order to successfully brew.

Homunculus Types:
Use Call Homunculus skill to summon your first Homunculus. If you have specific target homunculus then you can always delete it and call another until you get what you want. Each attempt will use Embryo. Either you purchase the embryo or brew it yourself. Choose the homunculus that suits your build. However if you just want it as a pet or display then choose the best looking from your point of view.

Vanilmirth
Characteristics: magical attacker, healer and tank
Food: Scell
Skills: Caprice, Chaotic Blessing, Instruction Change
Evolved Skill: Self Destruct
Comments:
  • best homunculus since it can do a lot of things with minimal supervision
  • Caprice skill makes leveling fast and easy
  • the only homunculus for brewer because of the passive effect of Instruction Change skill that increase brewing chance
  • Self Destruct is not good since you can only use it as a one time big time area of effect damage

Filir
Characteristics: physical attacker that relies on flee and attackspeed
Food: Garlet
Skills: Moonlight, Flitting, Accelerated Flight
Evolved Skill: S.B.R.44
Comments:
  • least appealing homunculus even if it has a damaging skill through Moonlight
  • it has a low hp which makes it vulnerable when your flee does not save you from incoming attacks
  • evolved skill is a one time big time attack that drastically change the loyalty to hate which is not good though you can basically spam the skill and maintain a hate loyalty

Amistr
Characteristics: tank with regen
Food: Zargon
Skills: Castling, Amistr Bulwark, Adamantium Skin
Evolved Skill: Blood Lust
Comments:
  • best homunculus for PVP based alchemist due to the castling utility where you can use the homunculus as bait then change position with your homunculus and surprise attack
  • leveling will be hard since you will mostly rely on normal attacks
  • evolved skill Bloodlust will make leveling a little bit easier since it increases attack and has a chance to  leech health

Lif
Characteristics: full support
Food: Pet Food
Skills: Healing Hands, Urgent Escape, Brain Surgery
Evolved Skill: Mental Change
Comments:
  • best homunculus for WOE based and MVP based alchemist since it can utilize the the Urgent Escape effectively
  • movespeed from Urgent Escape is similar to the players using speed potion which is bit faster than a mounted character with Agi up
  • other skills are not being used since potion pitcher is a better healing option
  • leveling will be extremely hard since you will rely on normal attacks with low damage
  • evolved skill Mental Change will greatly help on leveling since the normal attacks will be based on MATK which boosts your normal damage by a lot

How To Evolve Homunculus:
Purchase Stone of Sage from other players or hunt the item from monster Gemini-S58. Homunculus needs to have Loyal Intimacy then use Stone of Sage to evolve it

Where to Level:
The details provided here are based on my experience leveling my Vanilmirth. If you have alternative maps on where to level, please share them to me and I'll give credits to the info you provided.

Level 1 to 20
Tank level your homunculus on Spores at Payon Forest
other options will be on Prontera Culverts

Level 20 to 30
Tank level your homunculus on Wolf at Payon Forest
other options will be on Ant Hell

Level 30 to 40
Test if it can kill Orc Warrior and Orc Lady at Orc Village
Assist homunculus with potion pitcher if needed

Level 40 to 90
Test if it can kill Zenorcs and Orc Skeleton
Assist homunculus with potion pitcher if needed
Once it can sustain itself, you can afk leveling here

Level 90 to 99
Manual leveling is needed here by assisting Homunculus in killing Stapo and Muscipular at Rachel left map

Sample Homunculus Stats:
I'm sharing my non-evolved Vanilmirth stats that you can use as benchmark if you are particular with your stat growth. However bear in mind that this is not the best stat but you can use it as comparison. Also note that Instruction Change has been added at level81.

Comment:
The experience needed for homunculus was tripled but going through the leveling process shows that it didn't matter since I was able to achieve level 99 in two weeks for my Vanilmirth. Other homunculus might vary but if you do manual leveling it would be a lot faster.

I'm torn on binding the whole Homunculus tree skills on an accessory because all the skills are unusable once the item is unequipped. This is particularly problematic if you want a better accessory for boosting damage on your alchemist. Accessory shifting is also not possible because this is a right only accessory. The upside is we save 7 skill points  which can be allocated on more essential skills.
