Slotted Midgear became a common sight in pRO because of the introduction of Elven Piercing feature. The access to slotted midgears was made easier because of CnR promos and sale on the required items. Now, midgears that can be slotted has gone beyond Elven Ears. There are a lot of midgears that can be pierced now.
Quest Requirements:
1 Midgear
- any of the following: Elven Ears, Black Devil's Mask, Sunglasses, Glasses, Pair of Red Ribbons, Dark Blinkers, Mini Glasses, Black Frame Glasses, Ears of Angel's Wing and Ears of Devil's Wing.
1 Auger of Spirit
- can be purchased on hypermart
- also appears on selected promos
How To Pierce:
Locate the Piercing Expert inside the Upgrading Building at the center of Prontera City. Upon entering the Upgrading building there will be three rooms. Upon entering you will be at the middle room where we have the NPCs for upgrading. The Piercing Expert is to the left of the middle room.
Talk to the Piercing Expert and he'll be giving brief instructions. He'll be warning you that both the Mid gear and The Auger of Spirit will disappear when it fails. But if it succeeds you'll receive a slotted Mid gear but the Auger of Spirit will always be consumed on the process. You don't need to equip the item when piercing.
Once you agreed, the Piercing Expert will show you the list of possible Midgears that can be slotted. Choose the item that you have in your inventory and a smiting animation will appear above your head indicating that you are in the process of slot enchantment.
The NPC will tell you that the chance of successful slot enchantment is 20%. But then again getting successful on piercing all boils down to real life luck.
Congratulations you now have a slotted Midgear!
