Octopus Cave is one of the two featured dungeons in Malangdo Island. The Octopus Cave is the home of Disgusting Octopus where a Starfish is guarding its entrance. The starfish somehow have a grudge on the MVP inside the dungeon.
The Cast:
The composition of our team is the same as our Malangdo Culverts - 2nd Attempt. We have a double adventure on that night where in after our adventure on Malangdo Culverts we decided to try out on Octopus Cave. Three out of four members of the party are first timers so they are eager to see what the dungeon has to offer.
- Rich Kid Herbert a Genetic - MVP kille
- sankaku a Rune Knight - mob control
- Scarlet an Archbishop - support
- SAV-326-D/9 an Archbishop - support
The Adventure:
Because we failed miserably on the Malangdo Culverts, we decided to cheer up on an easier dungeon which is also found in Malangdo. And here we are trying out the Octopus Cave. We all purchased the Octopus Stick at the Malangdo Vending Machine because this is required in order to enter the dungeon. A little warning though that you need ROK points to buy Silverine Fruit to be used to exchange with Octopus Stick.
So we all entered Malangdo Dungeon and find the Starfish guarding the entrance of the cave. We talked to the starfish where he murmured about how he dislikes the Disgusting Octopus. He then triggered the instance for us.
I gave my party mates some briefing before we entered so they are aware of the dungeon mechanics. As soon as the instance was triggered, we all entered the dungeon. I went straight to one of the portals and the rest of the team followed me. We went all out on each Octopus Leg on the different portals until all 4 have fallen. It was easy kills so we performed the killing in rush mode.
When all the four tentacles have fallen the top portal opens to our team. We all proceed to the room and faced MVP Disgusting Octopus. In appearance he doesn't look fearsome but he looks cool with all the moss hanging on this head and limbs. I then throw some Acid Bomb on him and with 1 to 3 shots he's down. I can't remember the exact number but in just a few throws he's down. It was a very easy run.
Comments:
The dungeon is very easy even for newbies. The mobs and tentacles inside the dungeon are very easy to kill so the support class might not be needed. The dungeon mechanics are also straight forward and easy to figure out. Lastly the MVP is easy to kill with only 1 to 3 Acid Bomb and we are done. I can say that the dungeon is not for big parties but for small or solo run. The big drawback for adventurers is that it requires the indirect use of ROK points inorder to enter the dungeon. Though once you purchased the rental entrance item you can re-enter the dungeon until the duration of the item.
