Sorcerer Job Change Experience

Overview:
Sorcerers are 3rd jobs for Sages and Professors. Their role can be supportive and offensive now. They have been blessed with a lot of offensive magics with secondary effects like Psychic Wave, Varetyr Spear, Diamond Dust etc. Their supportive role has been enhanced with the aid of Striking, Warmer etc. They also have the Spirit System in which they call Spirits to aid them in their battles in the form of Agni, Aqua, Ventus and Tera.

Finally changed to Sorcerer

Foreword:

This is not a job change guide. I’m making this write up to relay my personal experience with the job change for Sorcerer. I may not be able to give the step by step procedure of the job change but I will relay some tips on the do’s and don’ts for the job change. The guide I used for the Job change is found at Ragnaboards.

My Story:

I’m not really excited to change my professor into a Sorcerer simply because I haven’t thought of the build that I am comfortable of. But nonetheless I job change it to take advantage of the daily quests and gain experience even if it’s idle. My journey in becoming a Sorcerer started at the Wizard’s guild at the top of Geffen Tower. I talked to Merito and signed up for job change.

After a quick overview regarding spirits he sent me off to Karacas. Karacas on the other hand discuss the details of the spirits and how to communicate with them. He’ll ask you bring 3 Wind of Venture, 3 Crystal Blue, 3 Red Blood and 3 Green Live. These materials will be used to communicate to the spirits on four different dungeons. As for early preparation bring at least 100 pieces of each material preferably more of Crystal Blue and Wind of Venture.

Locating Karacas at the middle area of the Geffen Tower

Each locations given by Karacas corresponds to an elemental stone to be used in communicating with the spirits. Most of the information posted here are taken from the quest guide I used. For the detailed information about the locations refer below.

• Location: Ice Dungeon
• Elemental Stone to be used: 3 Crystal Blue per attempt
• Reagent Available: Transparent Reagent and Black Reagent
• Difficulty: Easy 

• Location: Kunlun Dungeon
• Elemental Stone to be used: 3 Wind of Venture per attempt
• Reagent Available: Red Reagent and Black Reagent
• Difficulty: Easy with Premium Warp

• Location: Coal Mines
• Elemental Stone to be used: 3 Green Live per attempt
• Reagent Available: Red Reagent and Transparent Reagent
• Difficulty: Difficult on the maze part

• Location: Thor Volcano
• Elemental Stone to be used: 3 Red Blood per attempt
• Reagent Available: Transparent Reagent and Black Reagent
• Difficulty: Extremely Difficult because of the mob density and monster level

Collecting reagents from the Spirit Detecting Staff is like fishing in the new world. A cast bar with an unreducible cast time appears above your head. After the casting, you will be informed if you have successfully communicated with the spirits or not.

Attempting to communicate with the spirits and collect reagents

Each attempt to communicate with the spirits consumes 3 Elemental stones wether successful or failed. You can get these reagents at a minimum of 2 locations and a maximum of 3 locations because each location can give you 2 of the reagents. However, once you acquire a reagent, you cannot receive the same reagent even on other locations.

After collecting all the reagents go back to Karacas and submit the items. Then he will changed you to a Sorcerer. Congratulations!

Changing into a Sorcerer

As part of your job change you will be rewarded with a Sorcerer exclusive headgear Wind Whisper [1] and a third job exclusive accessory Green Apple.

Comments:

The job change for Sorcerer is pretty simple compared to the role that they handle. There are no challenge for the job change unless you aim on getting the reagents at Thor Dungeon. Since Valkyrie server has high population, obtaining elemental ores is very easy especially when you have enough money. In getting the reagents, you need pure luck and no talent at all. The quest can be completed at a minimum of 2 locations and a maximum of 3 locations. Selecting the easiest dungeon is the key for a fast job change. As a final word, the quest lacks story line and challenge.
