War of Emperium has always been one the best end game feature of Ragnarok Online. The game play evolves whenever there are updates on the job classes or new equipment that will heavily boost a certain skill is released. However only few builds are considered viable for the War.
ROMSP Restricted Skills:
For ROMSP server, there are restricted or unimplemented skills that should be taken into account when thinking of builds which can be read on Restricted Skills on ROMSP
The list of meta builds that is listed on the article is heavily based on what I have observed on character builds on ROMSP wars. I will not be listing detailed builds since I'm not an expert on most of these classes but will only showcase the important factors to consider on these builds which makes them stand out. Lord Knight
Vit Knight Bowling Bash Build
Role: Physical Damage Dealer/Tank
Front liners during clashes and first to attack during portal defense
Needs to survive long enough and tank damages and redirect attention away from fragile guild mates
Multiple Lord Knights performing bowling bash on a single target is also deadly
Important Skills: Bowling Bash, Endure, Magnum Break
Important Stats: High VIT and High STR
Important Equipment: High Defense Gears like over upgraded Golden Gears with shifting from One Hand Sword to Two Hand Sword
Paladin
Devotion/Sacrifice Build
Role: Full Support/ Tank
Considered as one of the core characters of a guild
Supports key characters of the guild by receiving damage on their behalf with the Devotion/Sacrifice skill
Important Skills: Devotion/Sacrifice and all Shield Skills
Important Stats: High Vit and Med Dex
Important Equipment: High HP and mostly defensive gears
Assassin Cross
Critical Build
Role: Physical Damage Dealer
Takes advantage of stealth to deliver a surprise attack which only lasts for few hits
Important Skills: Enchant Deadly Poison, Cloaking, Hide
Important Stats: High ATKSPD and variation of High LUK or High STR
Important Equipment: If chosen High LuK then equipment will focus on Physical Damage but if chosen High STR then equipment will focus on Critical equipment like Night Raven Shawl
Some variation uses the new feature which allows Critical attacks to do Double damage via Snake hat or Side Winder card
Double Dagger/Sword Build
Role: Physical Damage Dealer
Takes advantage of stealth to deliver a surprise attack which only lasts for few hits
Important Skills: Enchant Deadly Poison, Cloaking, Hide
Important Stats: High ATKSPD and HIGH STR
Important Equipment: Double Dagger or Double Sword which it tries to kill the target with few attacks as possible
Soul Destroyer Build
Role: Mixed Physical and Magical Damage Dealer
Needs Bragi's Poem to be able to spam Soul Destroyer
Important Skills: Soul Destroyer, Enchant Deadly Poison, Cloaking, Hide
Important Stats: High ATK and MATK
Important Equipment: Equipment that amplifies damage ATK and MATK. Range gears will also boost its damage
Bolter Build
Role: Magic Damage Dealer
A magic variation that does not use any Assassin Cross skills but takes advantage of the ability of assassins to dual wield a sword
Needs Mind Break debuff to be effective
Important Skills: Cloaking, Hide
Important Stats: High INT
Important Equipment: Elemental Sword and Bolt Scroll
Stalker
Full Strip Build
Role: Debuffer
Not really a meta build since Full Coat is a hard counter to Full Strip while Dispel is a hard counter to Preserve but sometimes there are guilds that uses them
Important Skills: Full Strip, Hide, Tunnel Drive, Stalk, Close Confine
Important Stats: High DEX and High VIT
Important Equipment: Defensive Equipment and DEX items
High Wizard
AOE Magic Build
Role: AOE Magic Damage Dealer
Considered as one of the core characters of a guild
Survives longer with the aid of Paladin's Devotion/Sacrifice
Important Skills: Storm Gust, Meteor Storm
Important Stats: High MATK and High DEX
Important Equipment: High Damage gears like over upgraded Staff of Destruction
Ganbantein Build
Role: Counter Player
Punch holes on opposing guild's Land Protect/Magnetic Earth
Considered as defensive build but sometimes even high damage dealer builds can take this role as needed
Important Skills: Ganbantein
Important Stats: High Dex
Important Equipment: Defensive Gears sometimes uses Lich Bone Wand for the added trigger on the AOE Curse
Professor
Full Support
Role: Support/Debuffer
Considered as the most important character of a guild
Protect members from AOE ground spell through Land Protect/Magnetic Earth
Priority to receive Devotion/Sacrifice of Paladin
Cripples opposing characters by removing their buffs via Dispell
Important Skills: Dispel, Land Protect, Spider Web
Important Stats: High VIT and High Dex
Important Equipment: Defensive Gears and Gears that aids on Fast Casting like Crown of Deceit
Bolter
Role: Magic Damage Dealer
Main job is to be offensive by using the Double Bolt buff
However they can also debuff and do offensive Land Protect/Magnetic Earth
Important Skills: Double Bolt, Spider Web
Important Stats: High INT and High DEX
Important Equipment: Gears that increases Magic Damage and aids on Fast Casting like Crown of Deceit with Isilla Card
Sniper
FAS Build
Role: Physical Range Damage Dealer
Multiple Snipers casting this skill can easily kill targets with low HP
Important Skills: Focus Arrow Strike, Improve Concentration
Important Stats: High DEX and High LUK
Important Equipment: Over upgraded Falken Blitz and gears that increases Range Damage or Critical Attack like Ship Captains Hat
Trapper Build
Role: Physical Range Damage Dealer/Debuffer
Main focus is to place different kinds of trap to delay attacking guilds from advancing
During guild clashes they can also use Arrow Shower with a status inflicting bow for debuff
Important Skills: Ankle Snare, Land Mine, Clamore Trap
Important Stats: High Dex and High Int
Important Equipment: Gears that increases Int and Dex for trap damage but can also use defensive equipment when role shifts to status inflict via Arrow Shower
Minstrel
Full Support Build
Role: Full Support/Debuffer
Considered as one of the core characters of a guild
Main focus of Minstrels is to play Bragi's Poem to aid the whole guild's casting time and after cast delay
If there are multiple Minstrel available, the other Minstrel can use Frost Joke or Tarot Card
Important Skills: Bragi's Poem, Tarot Card, Frost Joke
Important Stats: High VIT, balance of INT and DEX
Important Equipment: Instrument with Golem Card to ensure your weapon will be intact for playing songs and Defensive Gears
Gypsy
Full Support Build
Role: Debuffer/Full Support
Main focus of Gypsy is to Scream which will constantly stuns low VIT characters of the opposing team
Scream is considered as the most powerful debuff in-game since it is a wide screen debuff that goes through walls
If there are multiple Gypsy, both can scream to double the fun or the other can use dance skills like Service for you or be offensive and use Slow Grace on the opposing guild
Important Skills: Scream, Slow Grace, Service For You
Important Stats: High VIT, Balance of AGI and DEX
Important Equipment: Whip with Golem Card to ensure your weapon will be intact for dance skills and Defensive Gears
Champion
Extrimity Fist/Azura Strike Build
Role: One Hit Killer
Main focus of Champion is to one shot a specific character to immediately take them out of the battle field
Build must achieved the highest possible damage while balancing it with a fast cast
Priority targets are Professor, Minstrel, Gypsy and other crucial class of the opposing guild
Important Skills: Extrimity Fist/Azura Strike, Snap, Zen
Important Stats: Balance of High STR, INT, DEX
Important Equipment: Equipment with high ATK and equipment which increases SP Pool like Alice Doll with Carat Card
High Priest
Full Support
Role: Full Support
Main focus is to provide buffs to guild members
It may also provide debuff like decrease agi and lex aeterna
Important Skills: All Buff Skills, Lex Aeterna, Safety Wall
Important Stats: High Vit, balance of Int and Dex
Important Equipment: Defensive Gears
Whitesmith/Mastersmith
Cart Ram Build
Role: Physical Damage Dealer/ Debuffer
Main focus is to Cart Ram targets to death one at a time
This build is a high DPS which can easily overwhelm the healing capacity of the target
They can also choose to break opposing guilds weapons and armors through Meltdown and Cart Revolution combo
Important Skills: Cart Ram, Cart Boost, Meltdown, Cart Revolution
Important Stats: High Str and High Atkspd
Important Equipment: High Damaging equipment like Giant Axe
Biochemist
SPP Build
Role: Full Support
Main Focus is to use Slim Pitch Potion to the whole guild as they try to clash with opposing guilds
Has a high healing per second which can literally save your guild from being overwhelmed by bombarding damage
Can also support by protecting the equipment of guild mates through Full Coat
Important Skills: Slim Pitch Potion, Full Coat
Important Stats: High VIT, High Dex, High Atkspd
Important Equipment: Defensive equipment, equipment that reduce cast time and increase Atkspd
Acid Bomb Build
Role: Range Physical Damage Dealer
Acid Bomb has high damage output that can easily one shot high VIT characters which are not Swordsman class
Can also support by protecting the equipment of guild mates through Full Coat
Important Skills: Acid Bomb, Full Coat
Important Stats: Balance of High STR and INT
Important Equipment: Equipment that increases Atk and Matk or Range damage like Ship Captains Hat
Ninja
Killing Strike Build
Role: One Hit Killer
Main focus is to shot a specific character to immediately take them out of the battle field
Build is focused on increasing HP and ATK to maximize the damage output
Priority targets are Professor, Minstrel, Gypsy and other crucial class of the opposing guild
Important Skills: Killing Strike, Cicada Skin Shed
Important Stats: High VIT and High STR
Important Equipment: Equipment that increases HP and boost Atk damage
