Patch Notes: August 26, 2010
The patch notes for the week has been posted and I'm late to mirror it on my site. Anyways good news for all of us because of the modified experience and drop for the whole week. I'm a bit skeptical about the modified drop rate because on Valkyrie Server I believe we don't have a sense of rarity anymore. Most of the hunted gears floods our market so in my opinion the modified drop rate had a little effect to us. Boss hunters will not even take advantage of this because of the recent Bossnia event added a lot of boss rare drops to the market. It would have been better if they implemented x3 modified experience rather than x2 modified experience with x1.5 drop. It would have been a bigger help to those who are rushing to 99 for Renewal.
Another shocking news. Slotted middle gear has finally opened it's door to Valkyrie server through the new Hypermart item Auger of Spirit. The item is used to enchant a slot on Elven Ears giving away a lot of possibilities of headgear card combination. The materials required for the Elven Ears [1] is very expensive so slot at your own risk. At the current pre-Renewal the item I believe is imbalance but post-Renewal it would be just an ordinary slotted headgear. Let's just wait for renewal to tame the said item.
For the complete patch notes read after the jump.

Patch Notes: August 18, 2010
The patch for the week is up. The much awaited Renewal has been patch to pRO Sakray but players are not allowed to access Sakray until further notice. Don't worry Bossnia has been patched to commercial servers to keep us busy. Also Agit Lords Phase 3 is coming our way. Complete patch notes is written after the jump.

Prontera Quest – Army Supply
Overview:
Philippine Ragnarok Online is really making its own share of making Ragnarok localize by introducing daily quests on its servers. The latest daily quest that they have released is the Army Supply Quest. The quest asks you to revive an injured soldier in exchange for experience. Because of some recent controversies on this quest, I have decided to create this post a little later than its released date. I tried to observe first on how the daily quest really works before I did this post. For the official notice regarding the release of this quest, please refer to the pRO site.
The Army Quest is a Daily Quest so it has the 20 hour cool down before initiating another try on this quest. The starter NPC for this quest is constantly using the “/!” emotion and his name has the prefix [Quest] which allows you to identify him easily. This quest is a part of the Prontera quests in which it requires difficult requirements in order to finish the quest. Performing the Prontera quests on a daily basis will surely drain your resources. Perform the prontera quests when you really need them or you have the capacity to perform them.

Prontera Quest – Church Donation
Note: Currently not working for level 100 and up
Overview:
The Church Donation Quest is the latest daily quest that Philippine Ragnarok Online has added. The quest has the promise to give a generous amount of experience in exchange to your donation for the church in zeny. Also, this quest only caters to wealthy adventurers who’s level is 60 and above. For the official announcement regarding the release of the quest, please visit the pRO site.
Since Church Donation Quest is a daily quest, it also has the 20hour cool down after you have performed the quest. The NPC continuously express the "/!" emotion. Contrary to the other daily quest, the NPC of this quest doesn’t have any prefix [Quest] on it’s name.

Prontera Quest - Order of Odin
Overview:
Philippine Ragnarok Online had impressed me with the addition of another Daily Quest. This time the Daily Quest NPC is located in Prontera. Although this quest is not for everyone since it only caters to Premium users, It gives a more reason to let us avail of the Premium Service that LU has already released. The quest will also be an additional routine for us on our daily ragnarok life. The official announcement for the release of this quest can viewed at the pRO site.

Alberta Quest - Let's Swab the Deck
Overview:
The Philippine Ragnarok Online has implemented another daily quest last September 2, 2009. It seems pRO is beginning to spice up it’s own servers and giving a unique flavor for Ragnarok thru daily quests. For the official announcement you could check the overhauled pRO site.
Just like the previous Alberta Quests namely Cargo Delivery Quest and No More Lonely Knights Quest, this quest also gives experience for both base and job. It also has a 20hour cool down and the trigger NPC constantly express the /! emotion.

Alberta Quest - No more Lonely Knights
Overview:
The Philippine Ragnarok Online has just recently added two daily experience quests. They launched the Alberta Cargo Delivery Quest last February 2009 and followed by No more Lonely Knights Quest last April 2009. Both quests are pRO exclusive but I have read that other locations are looking into adopting these quests for their servers. These quests have 20 hours cool down and it’s repeatable. So in other words, it’s like receiving free experience points on a daily basis. Also as early as level 1 you could already perform this quest but it would be better to perform this quest at a higher level for higher experience gain. Do note that this quest is already permanent!
Why is it called Alberta Quests? because the quest starter on both quests are located in Alberta. They will be using the emoticon “/!” once in a while so you will easily notice them.
I have decided to create a sort of a guide journal about the Alberta Quest because I find it very repetitive in instructing friends who are unfamiliar with this quest. Also if there are other players who are reading my journal entries this will be of great help in informing them that these kind quests exist. These are quests which greatly complement your craving for more experience.
On a side note, the experience given by these quests are further increased with the use of premium service and field manuals. When I mention about field manuals I am referring to the item that increases the received experience points for 30mins. Example of which are Basic Field Manual, Advance Field Manual and others.

News: Temporary Blocking of pRO International Access
A big news has came to pRO. All international players have been temporarily blocked from accessing the Ragnarok Servers of pRO in preparation for the upcoming Renewal Patch. It's not a secret that most international players were OFWs who keeps in touch with their family and friends through the game. It's really sad to know that were blocked with no definite period of time. Read the announcement after the jump.

War of Emperium - Aug 7, 2010
The Ragnarok Philippine Championship part 2 has just begun last August 2, 2010. It indicates that all the Agits will be conquered by the Guild Masters. Guilds from various parts of Midgard are invited to partake in the battles in conquering this Agits and be the top guilds to win the RPC.
The Agits at WoE 1 were still untouched because this will be its first war for the RPC season. All agits from Britoniah, Greenwood Lake, Luina and Valkyrie Realm were filled with monsters and MVPs which guards the emperium. My siege guild Armor of God is prepared to conquer these agits but doesn't have the drive to participate on the RPC.
At the beginning of the siege, we have been busy with a Britoniah Agit located at the lower left of the map. Some members were not yet ready and are still asking for supplies. Those who were ready immediately rushed towards the agit. We have effectively defended the agit against lone breakers but we failed to defend the agit against a guild.

Player Feedback
I'm very pleased to read feedback from our Ragnarok Community. It's a big deal for me to get inputs from players regarding my write ups because it helps me to improve my posts. Encouraging words also help me to continue working with my sites. It's like your telling me that the community is actively supporting my sites by reading my posts.
Thank you so much for you support. I hope my Ragnarok Adventures site here in Blogspot will have an equal support just like the Ragnarok Adventures in Multiply.
Player's feedback while I'm AFK in the town of Alberta.
Another inspiring feedback from co-players.
Once again, Thank you readers.
Nidhoggur Instance - Failed
Angel and I had planned to try another instance dungeon other than what we already have experienced before. We thought of trying out with Nidhoggur's Nest Instance Dungeon because we haven't really explored the new world thoroughly. All prerequisite quests has been performed and we now have the privilege to perform the instance dungeon.

One Zeny Vend
After I finished my rushed Crowd Control Quest for Clock Tower, I noticed an unusual behavior of players at the left Kafra in Prontera on the wee hours. A mob of players were flocking and appears to be trailing someone. I am curious on what is going on so I decided to stay for a while.
One of the players had been dropping different kinds of loots such as tamings, headgears, armors, and miscellaneous items. So I figured out that the commotion was caused by the give away from a generous Valkyrian. After a while someone had vended with a shop name "1z". I opened the shop and to my surprise the shop is filled with products all with 1z price. I tried to grab one item but it's too late for me because the shop has been sold out. I had a slow realization and reaction with what happened.

Up for grabs, a shop where products are sold in 1z only

War of Emperium - Aug 2, 2010
The War of Emperium for today covers the WOE SE Agits only. My War of Emperium experience for August 2, 2010 revolves on two agits only. They are Bidblind Agit located at the center of Nidhoggur and Mardol Agit located at the upper left of Valfreyja.
I participated the siege during the last hour because I was late. I joined my siege guild rhswrdzrnyvhgzxckljmcxv who at that time is already defending our home agit at Bidblind. I have observed that there were little to no action inside the agit. Then suddenly we are commanded to attack the Mardol Agit which is known to be the home of Kingdom of Justice (KOJ).
We continuously warped to attack Mardol everytime we spawned at our save point. And in response to our action one of the guilds of KOJ retaliates and attacked Bidblind, our home agit, while the other KOJ guild faced us and defended Mardol. Our Bidblind agit became defenseless and open to attacks because we are busy attacking Mardol.
Bidblind then has fallen and been taken over by KOJ so our Guild Master (GM) decided to reclaim the agit. We defended the agit as we construct the Barricades and Guardian Stones while preventing the small wave of KOJ entering Bidblind.

Reclaiming Bidblind from Kingdom of Justice
When all the defensive mechanism has been put up, we hold the agit as the two guardian stones summons strong Guardians. Our GM suddenly used Emergency Call to invade Mardol again. We had the upper hand during that time because it's a surprise invasion during the last 30-minutes of the war. We successfully took over Mardol and set up for the defense. As expected two guilds of KOJ came in to reclaim their home agit. We defended the agit for a while but because of the overwhelming number of the opposing guild the agit has been taken away from us.
Taking over Mardol for a while during the last hour of the siege
At the end of the siege both guilds were able to hold their home agits. Bidblind is still owned by rhswrdzrnyvhgzxckljmcxv and Mardol is still owned by Kingdom of Justice. To sum it up, my siege experience today is action packed. I love these kinds of sieges and hope to have more.
PVP No Limit Izlude
It's been long time since the player versus player (PVP) rooms on our server has been deserted. Most of the players were more interested in player kill (PK) maps because of easy access. Because of Geffen Quest - Mage Hunter, the PVP room Izlude has been filled with people again.
The room contains a mix of Questers, Tambays and Killers. As for me, I could consider myself as a quester and a victim. I usually perform the quest in a fast "spam enter" mode to avoid aggressive players. As much as possible I conceal myself behind the buildings while locating the non-player character NPCs inside the room. After I perform the quest, I am now ready to be killed.

Blending with the other players inside the PVP room
I stayed for a while interacting with them. My character is a Soul Linker with support and defensive capabilities so I literally don't have any means of aggressively attack someone. While I burn my time inside the room, there were friendly attacks that were not deadly but that's part of the game play. There were ninja-like players which aggressively attack someone in the room then runs away. Then most of the non-aggressive players chased the aggressive player and the cycle goes on. In the end, I got bored and got out of the room. I finished my daily quest and continued my unfinished Crowd Control Quest at the Alarms map.

Bossnia Event - 7th time
Bossnia Event - 7th time
When: July 18, 2010
Where: Bossnia Dungeon
Reference Link: July 14, 2010 Patch Notes
Previous Bossnia Events:
Bossnia has been released again and became a regular event in pRO. It has been offered on our servers from July 14, 2010 to July 21, 2010. Basically, Bossnia is a dungeon where MVPs spawn like regular monsters. There are 4 rooms available for hunting where in they contain the same MVPs and with the same map. Even if it sounds difficult there are still rooms for battles.
My guildmates will never skip these events so we organized a hunting party. We have formed a 6-man party to explore the Bossnia Dungeon. We balanced our team to have a tank, support and killers. We had 2 team composition choices but we ended up having 2 High Priests, 2 Biochemists, a Champion and a High Wizard. All in all we had 2 support, a tank and 3 damage dealers.
Our Team - Blur, BitterAngel, Rich Kid Herbert, Lite, Angel Fist and I love Kafra
As we move around the dungeon we met a lot of familiar monsters. Since our team is small compared to our full pack party during Endless Tower, we could only defeat Low-End MVPs. The common MVPs that we met were Golden Thief Bug, Drake, Dark Snake Lord and Orc Lord.
Golden Thief Bug - the one of a kind non-aggressive MVP
Dark Snake Lord - the one and only ghost type low end MVP
Since the dungeon is not only populated with low end MVPs, once in a while we bump with high end MVPs. Most of the time we ended up dying and wiped out due to their overwhelming power. Our current team is not prepared to face these MVPs so as much as possible we evade their attacks. These kind of MVPs were rare sight so it's not hard for us to navigate our way to the MVPs we can defeat.
We can tank Fallen Bishop Hibram but we lack damage dealer for him
Dying in the flaming hands of Ifrit
Chased and crushed by Beelzebub, the Lord of the Flies
As we continue our adventure at the bossnia dungeon, we met the same monsters over and over again. But at some point on our journey we also met rare spawn MVPs at the dungeon. It's our honor to battle these MVPs.
Garfield... I mean Eddga with his loyal bears
The hard to catch Lady Tanee hiding behind a banana tree.
Not all our encounters were one MVP versus our team. Most of the time we are faced with group of MVPs. We tried to single out an MVP then go back to the other one to prevent commotion on our team. But of course this is not the typical scenario. We ended up killing the easier MVP first before the hard ones.
Freezing combination from Stormy Knight and his Garm mob... yes Garm is now the new mob of Stormy Knight.
Deadly combo from Osiris, Drake, Atroce and Detarus
Bossnia Dungeon will always be a great MVP hunting experience. But because of the frequency of these dungeon event most of the rare MVP loots became common to our server which makes boss hunting less desirable. MVP loots floods our markets each time Bossnia is released on our server. Based on what I have observed, only few teams had participated this time because Bossnia is not rewarding anymore. What makes bossnia desirable is the boss-all-you-want notion and the bonding with the team.

About Me
Hi Readers,
I am Herbert a Philippine Ragnarok Player, an adventurer of the vast land of Midgard. Yes, my real name is Herbert! But I won't reveal my last name for trolling purposes.
I started playing this game when the only server available is Chaos server. The veterans call this the Beta Days. During that time I have experienced having pop up message like “The server is rejecting you” because of over population.
When Level-up Games decided to create another server named Loki, I decided to transfer there. The server has full of bugged maps where in Geffen, Prontera and other maps are in-accessible. During the first few months we are experiencing Emergency Maintenance one after the other. Every emergency maintenance Lokians use /who command to determine how many people are left before their turn to be kicked out of the server. I spent most of my Ragnarok years here where I found my home and in-game family (Oracles Guild). I enjoyed most Ragnarok episodes here. My only regret during these times is that I failed to take as many screen shots as possible for memories.
As the popularity of Ragnarok in our country wanes, my interest in this game also fades. The Ragnarok servers merge one after the other. Most of my real life friends turned into semi active players or worst quit the game. So I decided to transfer to Freya since I have a friend there who has a WoE active guild (Team Rocket guild). I have become active for quite some time but the game play is not that intense anymore. So I decided to lie low.
Then came a Free to Play server named Valkyrie. Valkyrie during the release has a very buggy start. Its like Loki server when it was initially released. I drag some of my friends to the new server telling them that it was free and you don’t need a load to play Ragnarok. Then we played for some time and became hooked again. The server has a wide range of people just like the feeling of beta days. You can talk to random people, meet people and enjoy the whole Ragnarok experience all over again. As of today the server is always in extreme mode just like the population of Chaos server back in the Beta days.
At this point, I have decided to make some journals to document my adventures in the world of Ragnarok specifically in pRO Valkyrie Server. I want to share some of these things to all the readers of my site. I will try to write as many journals as possible covering from places to level up, in-game events, quests, new episode features and random stuff. Each journal that I will make will be consisting of write ups and screen shots to make my journals more interesting to read. It might take me some time to write a journal because of time constraints with my work and some real life events plus the trouble of constructing the write up itself.
I stopped playing the game when pRO ended last March 2015. I cut myself off any Ragnarok related news since I don't have any plan on playing on any server. However April 2017 had the biggest announcement that pRO is being revived through Elite Extreme publisher. The launch will bring back to the roots of Ragnarok Online where the only available jobs is 2-1.
I found home together with my friends at ROPH Loki joining several guilds but we mostly stayed with Eternal, Reckon, All out War and Inhumans but we also guests to a lot of guilds on our server. When all the severs were merged into ROPH Valkyrie we then created our own small guild named Unicorns. We consistently joined the war of emperium even if we have a hard time securing our own agit due to lack of numbers. To gain more members, we were able to convince Kindred guild to join Unicorns so we were able to boost our numbers. As the numbers of players on the server dwindle, we had another merge but this time with the Malaysia Singapore server and called it ROMSP Valhalla. We were able to preserver our guild Unicorns and consistently participate in the war even if we are small guild. As more guilds disbanded on our server we were able to recruit more groups one after the other such as Team Gala (Unholy), Team Reapie (Legion), Team Ghost (Warlords) and Team Scourge (Scourge). My adventures still continues up to this day.
I will try to write my journal as objective as possible to avoid unnecessary conflicts that my journals might cause. The story will be focusing on my point of view, my party’s point of view or my guild’s point of view so that you'll understand the whole picture why I have written the article that way. The screen shots taken will be trimmed to highlight the actions that happen. The character or names that have been involved in the screen shots are necessary to complete the whole story. If by accident you find your character or name appeared in one of the screen shots that I have posted and felt offensive and it should not be posted kindly inform me immediately.
Thanks and God Bless,
Herbert
