Port Malaya Expedition

Our server recently received a new patch called Port Malaya patch. Just like recent releases on global project maps pRO is the first official server to implement this patch after kRO because everything in this patch is inspired by Philippine culture and mythology. I have posted some pre-implementation infos regarding this patch on my Ports of Malaya - Philippine Themed Map post

When Port Malaya was released I didn't explore the map immediately. I heard during the launched our GM Team summoned a lot of MVP monsters as a welcome treat to all adventurers who ventures on the new map. Everyone is pretty much excited with the map inspired by our country.

Few days after the launch I invited my friends to explore Port Malaya but only Rian showed up to accompany me in this expedition. We started our adventure in Alberta by talking to Optamara Crew who directly transported us to Port Malaya. Upon arrival my initial impression was it was a bit dim with an ambiance of Spanish era. The city was large and most space are occupied by houses. Since our server had teleport disabled we have a hard time exploring the city because there are a lot of walls, stairs and impassable terrains. As we go around the town we noticed that there are jeepneys all over town. From what I read these jeepneys are transport systems that would let us go around the city with ease.

After we had enough of the town we got out into the fields and checked out what it has to offer. The field map had an ambiance of a tropical country with lots of trees. We met a lot of familiar monsters from our mythology. We have Tikbalang, Wak-wak, Mangkukulam, Engkanto and others. All of them were no match to a level 150 character. Apparently these monsters are for level 130s.

Port Malaya had its own share of the poring family called the Jejelling. If I may guess the name came from the word Jejemon plus Poring so that makes it Jejelling. Those who are not familiar with Jejemons, it is a tag given to a group of people who writes their words in an exaggerated manner. Well it's really hard to explain unless you encounter them but their identifying gear is a colorful cap where the tip of the cap is slightly angled when worn.

After each field map was explored, we decided to perform the first quest that will unlock most of daily quests in Port Malaya. It took us some time before we finish the quest and our exploration ends there. Definitely our adventure in Port Malaya does not end on just exploring. We still have plans in meeting with Buwaya, Bangungot and Bakunawa. All of which are MVPs in the instance dungeon. We are still conduction research and feedback from other players before barging in their respective dungeons. And I've heard we need a member with an attack speed freak build and a Sorcerrer for Land Protection/Magnetic Earth. That's all I got for this expedition hope you had your own expedition on this map too.

Before I end my journal I'll leave you with the background story of Port Malaya as narrated by iRO

Last day of the 7-day long coastal fishing.

After noticing that one of our fishing net has been swept off by the currents, we've set sail to the east in order to recover it. We have managed to locate the fishing net, however our ship was swept off by the very same currents that carried away our precious tool.

Sailing aimlessly for months at end, we've already depleted our source of water and rations. Just when we were at our limits on fishing to quell our hunger, we have spotted an island off to the east where no sailors have ever gotten to -- Port Malaya.

Despite the grim looks on our faces, the inhabitants of Port Malaya greeted and provided us with hospitality.

Upon first glance, we discovered various new plants, land animals and aquatic lifeforms as well as modern technology from places within the Port Malaya Town.

Many foreign traders, that our kingdom have not yet come in contact with, can be seen along the roads in this city. The amount of products being traded in this city exceeds three or four times that of Midgard's largest harbor, many of which are new and mysterious. What surprised us the most was their modern medical technology and the existence of a Hospital, the existence of mysterious civilization.

Our wish to return to our homeland came true with the help of the Mayor of Port Malaya. He wanted to keep a friendly relationship with our kingdom, providing us with a new ship loaded with various precious Port Malaya-exclusive products on board. We set sail to the west.

We will sail back to our homeland. We hope that the information we bring will be of use to the Midgard Adventurers to start their journey anew.

  2. Thanks for the feedback Aryafortis. =)
We've already applied that tactics to Bangungot ang Buwaya.
During our run we used blood sucker.
I'll be posting a separate journal for that adventure.
I'm not sure if that is working as intended or an overlooked exploit.
