Hall of the Abyss Expedition

Hall of the Abyss is the expansion of the guild dungeons under the War of Emperium first edition. The service is being offered by the Cat Hand Group to temporarily create a portal that will lead castle owners deeper into the castle dungeons. In our server guild owners of a certain realm must acquire 100 billion zeny in order to open these dungeons.

Just after our servers received the patch, our guild is very much excited in entering the Hall of the Abyss. So on our War of Emperium for the first edition we see to it that we have conquered an Agit. All of our guildmates were cooperative in defending our castle. Not having a castle means no adventure for us.

When the war ended, we were able to secure an agit in Britoniah realm. We also found out that all our allies have secured agits on the same realm. That means we will not have any problems with the guild versus guild (GvG) environment on the Hall of the Abyss (HoA). Yes you've read it right, the HoA has an environment similar to WoE.

Although we secured an agit, we have a slight problem with the investment mechanics. Our realm needs to invest a whooping 100 billion zeny! The GMs view our server so high that the investment became a zeny drain feature. The good news is if none of the realms reach the 100 billion cap the realm with the highest investment will have its HoA opened. The bad news is Luina and Valkyrie realm almost reaching the 100 billion cap. The more bad news is our realm has just started investing.

Well its not that bad because our allies are willing to open the HoA for all of us so they made an effort to invest 100 billion zeny so that it will be opened soon. I guess the 100 billion zeny investment is really achievable in our server. After the investment period, only Valkyrie Realm and Britoniah Realm opened. Then we begin our Hall of the Abyss Adventure!

The Hall of the Abyss didn't open on time because of some technical difficulties so we have to wait patiently in our Agit so that we can enter.

When the the Hall of the Abyss finally opened all of us rushed towards the dungeon like mad dogs. At first we don't have any party and we just jump in the dungeon and unleashed all our skills like there's no tomorrow. We killed monsters as we see them not minding  any dangerous skills that they may posses. It's like an all out war versus the monsters.

As time pass by we are more organized and now formed parties. We tried to kill as many monsters as possible. Then we discovered that there are treasure boxes that drops the PH gears and some WoE potions. Instead of killing random monsters we then concentrate on hunting this treasure boxes. My fair share of the PH gear is not that good compared to my other guildmates but at least I have a PH muffler plus a lot of Bato and WoE potions.

We went down the HoA for several days hunting for treasure boxes. None of us has looted a Vellum item which makes us wonder how to get them. Our ally was able to hunt MVP Dead Guardian Kades every 8 hours in the dungeon securing a lot of Vellum weapons. One of my guildmates was able to loot a Vellum weapon on a monster. But none of my friends have able to loot a Vellum weapon. I guess the drop rate is very very low. Maybe as low as a card drop.

In summary, Hall of the Abyss is a great dungeon offering adventurers a promise to get a Vellum weapon. However the drop rate is very low that makes people frustrated. Killing the MVP is the best way to secure vellum weapons. Since the MVP is located inside the guild dungeon, the guild owners will be the only people who can secure the vellum items.

In our server, I believe that the 100 billion investment is a good zeny drain but the return of investment is not that good when guild owners does not invest time in hunting too. So if your guild made an effort to invest on the dungeon, see to it that your members are eager enough to hunt for their items. It is also a good guild activity and can possibly attract new members to join your guild.
