pRO had been conducting the selection process for our representative as early as beginning of the year through series of events. We have the regular agit lords or our server representatives, regionals to scout teams from selected provinces, wild card from votes and sure slot for the LU Live 2011 winner. Our representative came from Davao regionals and they were able to fly to Japan with ease. pRO made a point that all teams participating the RPC 2013 final 8 has passport so that they won't have a problem flying to other countries.
After an intense battle we now have the results. The RWC 2013 champion was bagged by Thailand showing a strong team play that they are very well prepared to a Mado strategy. Second place goes to Thailand.
Better Luck next time Team Pilipinas! We still have another shot next year.
RWC 2013 uses 3rd job characters in the competition. Same rules apply where in teams will be using 7 characters with no repeating classes are allowed. Usability of characters is strictly defined from the restricted skills and item limitations. Based on my observation of the matches the following classes are the core of the teams: Archbishop, Sorcerer, Royal Guard, Sura and Minstrel. The last two slots to make up the 7 man team are being juggled between the following classes: Warlock, Shadow Chaser, Rune Knight and Mechanic.
There are still unusable classes that are left out on the prestigious competition. Because of item restrictions the following classes are hardly being chosen: Assassin Cross and Genetic. The following classes somehow didn't find any use in competitive teams: Ranger and Wanderer.
Game Mechanics is different this year because there are only few participating teams. From Single Elimination last year we have a round robin format. Teams are separated into block A and block B. Teams on each block will battle each team within the block to have a race for 2 to win a match. Team with the highest number of winning match will win the block. For the finals winner of block A will battle the winner of Block B. Block A is composed of Japan, Taiwan and China while Block B is composed of Thailand, Philippines and South Korea.
Since I'm from pRO and I'm biased for our country here are all the matches that I've searched from youtube. Watch them and be the judge on the performance of the team.
