Alchemist Guild in Al de Baran

Foreword:
This is not a job change guide. I’m making this write up to relay my personal experience with the job change for Geneticists. I may not be able to give the step by step procedure of the job change but I will relay some tips on the do’s and don’ts for the job change. The guide I used for the Job change is found at pRO Renewal microsite.

My Story:
My journey of becoming a Geneticist starts inside the Alchemist Guild in Al de Baran. Alchemist Union Member is the one responsible in sending off Alchemists and Biochemists at Lighthalzen to learn and become a Geneticist.

The start of learning to become a Geneticist

Lighthalzen is known to be the center of research and development in Rune Midgard. The city is also the home of artificial intelligence so the city suits the concept of Geneticist. The building in becoming Geneticist is located at the lower left of the city. Changing the camera view will help you locate the portal in going inside the building.

Geneticist Guild in Lighthalzen

To start of learning the ways of a Geneticist meet with Devries. She will explain the concept turning plants into a weapon and turning your cart into a weapon.

The start of learning the concepts in becoming a Geneticist by Devries

Located in the second floor is Demi Calberine who will be teaching you the details of turning plants into a weapon. She will be sending you downstairs to gather different plants in the garden. The garden she was referring to is mini forest located near the entrance of the first floor.

Details of turning plants into a weapon explained by Demi Calberine

There are no visible items found in your inventory once you have gathered a plant. But the hole where you got the plant will tell you that you already have taken that plant. After gathering all items proceed in making the seed. If by chance you failed to create the seed go back to Demi Calberine and perform the gathering and seed making again.

Successful creation of the Seed of Experiment

Give the seed to Demi Calberine and she will ask you to gather some Scattered Stuff. After that you will find yourself inside a cage full of Poison Spores. The Poison Spores are aggressive and will attack you immediately. Lucky for me that my loyal homunculus named Yahir got the attention of the spores and saved me. At this point you need to kill 100 spores in order to get out of the cage. The Poison Spores inside the cage spawns endlessly so its impossible to empty the cage. Talk to the Warning sign near the cage to get out of the cage.

Cage full of endless spawning Poison Spores

Talk to Devries again and she will change you to Geneticist. Congratulations!

Gained the enough knowledge to change into a Geneticist

As part of your job change you will be rewarded with an Geneticist exclusive headgear Midas Whisper [1] and a third job exclusive accessory Green Apple.

Comments:
The flow of the job change quest is interesting and the concept is intact. The fight with the Poison Spores inside a cage is the highlight of job change quest. However, the job change only revolves inside a single building in Lighthalzen. The job change lacks adventure as compared with the Alchemist job change. They should have added a sort of journey to other places in gathering the seeds for job change or any similar concept. Overall its ok and it’s not as challenging as the Alchemist job change.

  2. It all depends on what you're up to.
If it's PVM or PVP or Siege.
But if you're after high Acid Bomb damage you can have high STR, INT then med LUK.

  3. how about spending some points to dex?

    ReplyDelete
  4. You can have med DEX.
If I'm not mistaken Acid Bomb is pure fixed cast time which means even high dex will not affect your casting. INT also affects casting time if you're worried with the casting for other skills.

  5. thanks! btw, what weapon should i use if i'm an acid bomb and cart cannon type? i'm planning to use zipper bear and tens red. is it a good choice?

  6. Yep it's a good choice.
    I'm using that one.

  7. nice guide! btw, do you know which maps or places where i can cultivate plants? i've been trying and it always tells me that the skill has failed.. =(

  8. Try cultivating in town, field and dungeon.
Those are the classification of maps on ragnarok online.
If it doesn't work on any of those maps.
I have no idea what happened to that skill.

  9. sir juss asking, i understand LUK now affects stats in some ways, but is STR valuable for AB damage? Still stuck with ancient pre-renewal basic knowledge here :p what is the stat to really boost AB output? Thanks :)

  10. If I'm not mistaken Acid Bomb damage is now based on ATK and mATK of the cast with bonus damage based on the VIT of the target so yes STR has a valuable role to ABs damage. LUK increases ATK and mATK slightly so yes it also affects AB damage.

  14. Sir herbie :)) Do hunter fly card and rideword hat effects work on cart cannon? Will I also receive life steal bonus? :)) thank you sir! I'm planning to focus on following a cart cannon build... Will it be fine if I'll put 90 pts to my dex?

    ReplyDelete
  15. Sorry I'm not sure because I don't own hunter fly card or rideword hat. But from what I understand these items don't work on skills so I guess it will not work. Traps and reflected damages has a mechanic similar to normal attacks that is why it works on them. 90 DEX is ok if you're aiming for HIT.
